Does ED install particulate filters in your car?

Does ED install particulate filters in your car?
If you pick up your car at the factory to drive around Europe for a week or two does the factory install the European required particulate filters in the exhaust? I have read that these filters are not installed on the American destined cars as these filters are not required here.
