I’ve driven on the autobahn out of Leipzig heading south - a wonderful stretch of road. Want to fly down it in my new GTS! Here’s the code -

Hey guys, just received my call for Euro Delivery for week after next.

Porsche is currently working with Germany Transportation to be able to receive Temporary Registration for North America cars, and at this time they are unable to allow for Euro Delivery NA Cars to be driven.

They were very congenial, and we'll still get to 'receive the car' in the Leipzig Museum, and get to drive another Porsche on the Test track, as well as receive a loaner 911 for our week long vacation.

In the end, I'm still thrilled about the Euro delivery experience, and now I won't be putting near the miles on my car.

Best Regards,
Dave

Thanks for the update. Mine is for early April, maybe they have it resolved by then.

I did ask this, and they are definitely committed to getting this resolved, so Euro Delivery will be coming back at some point, once they resolve with German Transportation.

Best Regards,
Dave

Wow, just stumbled upon this thread. I hope this issue gets resolved ASAP. I've already started planning for ED of 2019 Cayenne TT this coming summer/fall. ED is an effective way for Porsche to create brand advocates all over the world, so they should definitely figure out a way to make it work. Although with VW being in hot water over all the emissions stuff, regulators may be less agreeable.

I am hearing that the strategy may involve temporary reflashing of the car to meet Euro standards and then a further reflashing to NA standards when returned for shipment.

What does that mean? Isn't the car's engine the same in Europe as NA?

Spoke with the guys in Atlanta Euro Delivery. Everything is supposed to be back to normal. I was notified that my end of month delivery (last week of November) will remain as originally planned, with my car. So whatever the issue was, guess Porsche quickly fixed it.
