Default Atlanta?

The NE is killing us, we are considering relocating to Atlanta. After a bit of internet research we are looking north of the city(Cumming GA). How is the Porsche community down there?

Thanks for any info

Its pretty good in the Metro Atlanta area. Lot's of 911's, boxters and the newer models. I have a 944 Turbo and know several others with 944's as well. I see a few 928's as well.

Pretty Good. Check out Peachstate Region PCA. The DE's and AutoX were full and everyone was very nice (My first). We also have Petit Le Mans in October that brings people out of the wood work. Lots of indy shops that are good (one in Cumming that I use) and the two dealers are great as well.

I've been a Peachstate PCA (Atlanta) member for many years. I'm a PCA Certified instructor and Club Racer. The Peachstate region members are a great bunch of people. We are also blessed with being in close proximity of Road Atlanta (Cumming is 30 to 40 min from RA) where we sponser 3 to 4 DE's per year and one of the largest Club Races of the season. There is also a new track set to open in North Georgia before year end. We already have a Sept date set for a DE there. Racing, DE's, AutoX, Concours, Rally. We do a number of events every year. North of Atlanta is a hot spot for members. Ya'll come on down now, ya' hear. You'll be right at home. Lots of ex-yankees around here. I'm one myself. Move here from NJ over 20 years ago and never looked back.

Thanks so much for the input. We are trying to come down in the next week or two to look at a few homes.

You will love it in Cumming, great place. There is a big bunch of Porsche owners here and the Peachstate PCA is one of the best and most active clubs I've ever been in. Great bunch of folks down here!

Just got back from a trip to talk to the builders in Vickery, it really is very nice country down there:-) Driving around the hood I saw a Speed Yellow 997, Midnight Blue 997 4s, and nice Guards Red 993 cab.

Too bad you couldn't have made it up to Road Atlanta while your were here for the PCA Club Race. It was the weekend of the 26th and 27th. Although we had some rain on Saturday and Sunday, there was some pretty good racin' goin' on! Glad you enjoyed your visit.

Great time to buy a house the Atlanta metro. You should be able to get a great deal on a house there.

But be careful of the homeowners association fees at Vickery. I've heard they have skyrocketed to insane levels there.

Plenty of Porsches in the area, two dealers in the metro, and plenty of indys for service.

Plus a quick hop to the hills for a mountain run...
