Have my feelers out in the PCA and my air cooled section, but wanted to post here as well. Can anybody recommend someone? For the simply stuff, I use Joe's garage in SH, but i'd prefer a true air cooled specialist out there. I keep the car exclusively out east now and not worth putting 300 miles round trip, across the brutal commute from Northern Westchester County.

Idk anything out here I’d recommend, but the drive to port J to get over to CT opens a lot of options and isn’t a bad drive.

Which hamptons? I happen to know the owner, Gerard, of Hampton Classic Motorcars in Westhampton (Speonk actually). He's into all kinds of cars, but most recently he bought an original 356, rebuilt the tranny & engine and is driving it around. He's a super nice guy, and if he isn't the right person, he'd send you to the one who is. He's a very honest guy.

Tell him Adam, his neighbor, sent you.

I'm in South, so West / Speonk will work for me. Thx Adam

+1 to Gerard. I stored my 964 Targa with him year round and my car was taken care of like his child. Very honest mechanic, incredibly knowledgeable.

Sarge what’s your experience with Joe’s Garage? I’m looking for some detailing and an oil change.

They were fine few years back for an inspection and oil change, but they are now booking only in August. They also don't detail.

Hey Adam,

VERY impressed with your "neighbor". He's exactly the kind of guy I need out here! Gerard knows all the same people that I do, in the real car world. Love his shop and I said it triggered a memory of one of the greatest collections i've ever seen, and the guy keeps them all in Southampton. He said, "really, who's that?" I said it's the Wetanson collection, Gerard immediately responded with that he maintains all his cars and is quite close to him, so that floored me!!! Look it up and here's pics a took couple years ago w/ my son, that does it "some" justice.
He also knows and has dealt with my #1 Indy for the car in Westchester, where my home base is.
He did not finish the work yet, but if today's intro was any indication, I can't see how I can be disappointed.
I added to the list before we met today, so in addition to oil change and inspection, he's installing new tires and I'm going to have him replace the trans and break fluids as well. I'll report back once all is done. https://share.icloud.com/photos/001R...C2NcEANYN0d63g

Gerard is truly a gem! I figured after a few years (however only maybe 1k or so on the clock), I needed the trans and brake fluids replaced as well.
Gerard took it upon himself, to first bleed the brakes to test a sample of the fluid and also tested the transmission fluid. Both he was completely satisfied with and called me to say no need to change them out! He absolutely loved my car and said in all his years working on these classics, he hasn't seen one so mechanically sound and "dry". Couldn't be happier with my new mechanic in the Hamptons!
Cheers Adam!

I tried to enter my car, but they rarely take anything new that's not a GT car. So I probably won't go.
