I'm absolutely loving the R8 GT3 car. Did a bunch of laps on the 'ring last night. Frame rates are up with more effects turned on in DX11. Stuttering is down too. The Formula Renault 2.0 is great fun too. I was able to set some pretty quick laps at Donnington. The only one I haven't tried is the MX-5. The AMG GT3 is a beast! I don't enjoy the feel as much as the R8, but I'm sure for some (Bedo) it will be perfect.

Yeah the R8 LMS is pretty awesome. I also didn't really care for the AMG.

Have not tried the Renault yet. Bought it, haven't tried it.

That's the way the one I drove in real life felt. Nose tucked in REALLY nice and it had a slight tendency to oversteer/slide if you pushed it fast. The AX course had one sweeping section that had me just kissing the limiter in 2nd and there was definitely a small hit of opposite lock coming in to keep it going in the right direction.

The brakes DO seem, well, almost TOO good in the sim tho.

Just tried the new MX5 today. The brakes are insane.

So lets have a race with the MX5. Anything is better then the RUF Cup.

Aw c'mon... you gotta give it time.

I can promise you that it's INCREDIBLY rewarding once you get it figured out... and what you learn when driving the Cup fast, applies to a lot of other cars.

That said, I could be down for some Miata action tonight.

Just took the Formula Renault 2.0 out for a spin, don't remember running an open wheel car before so I don't know if this is a new feature or not but its pretty cool that you can see the pick up of the grass and gravel on the tires if you go off and watch it go away after a 100ft or so.

I have been underwater now for over a year, which is why I have not been racing with you guys. I have a DK2 I don't use. For sale here: https://rennlist.com/forums/for-sale...-rift-dk2.html. If anybody wants it, let me know by the weekend. Otherwise, I am going to dump it on eBay since I am not using it.

I sort of missed the season in the winter, and expect I am getting back in the international/domestic travel saddle here again that happens with the investigations I work on, but will check back here to see if I can make some of the upcoming events.

New MX-5 is pretty fun. The races are ridiculous. I finished 2nd from a mid pack start, just by waiting the idiots out. I was super conservative and avoided a pile of wrecks and still got clobbered by someone rejoining the track and driving into my door. A serious series would be good with that car, but I drive with paddle shift and sometimes find a neutral instead of a gear.

Yes it is. I'm looking forward to the advanced MX5 cup next week. The current series is a complete cluster****. I was leading a race at Lime Rock when a car decided to drive across the track right after the uphill taking out the first three cars. I got towed in, put two wheels back on the car and still finished fourth out of fifty.

50? I had no idea it was that big a field. At lime rock. Finishing with 0 incident points should be worth a $100 bonus.

Yeah, my race had 46 at Road Atlanta. Very busy for the first couple laps. I don't mind the lapped traffic or the guys I'm racing with, it's the guys who wreck, come back on track, wreck again, over and over.

I ran with the baseline setup, but then more recently I tried the McGee setup from the forums. It's not much faster, but much easier to drive. It is a great little car and supposedly drives almost exactly like the real deal. I think the only reasons I won't drive it is because of my sketchy logitech shifter and it's not quite as exciting as the R8 LMS.

Yeah I put a few laps on it again earlier today. Love that little car! Especially since I had my shifter repaired under warranty... so much more fun when I know it's gonna go into gear!

I took a click of bump damping out of the rear shocks and it settled the car down a bit. I thought about continuing some but ran out of time.

I was so used to running the old MX5 that I didn't realize that the setup wasn't fixed until after a couple of races. The baseline is pretty good though. I wish they would have stayed at Lime Rock, I'm racing the Spec Boxster there next month so it's good practice.
