First oil change is ALWAYS the most important oil change of an engines life as most wear occurs at this time...,,,I highly recommend doing this from 1000 to 2,000 miles for the sake of the car (and especially for any one planning on keeping their car beyond the warranty period.) Porsche reccomendations are soley to get the car through the warranty period, than it wants you to buy parts Some people even argue "the early oil change", after break in, is the only oil change that is really necessary. For me, $85 or even $185 is a minor expenditure to do the right thing on a $100K car so I plan on 1200, 5K and than every 5 K miles from there , At a minimum consider 7500 mile changes and I feel sorry for any one who buys your car after 15k oil changes

I have no idea if this applies to Porsche and I had no choice as I bought my car used with a fresh oil change. Now I will change my oil every year prior to putting it in winter storage.

I had my 20,000 mile service last week. I've had it 4 years (I have three cars). The oil change and filter was $172 -- (air filter was + $32, and the cabin filter was + $105).
They charged me for 8 quarts of Mobil 1. The computer level now reads 1/2 quart low.
I just accomplished my first DIY oil change on my 2013 991.1 C2S @ 28,996 miles. First of all, great DIY instructions/guidance! Along with the oil change I also replaced wiper blades and the cabin air filters.
This all took about 2 hours on a Friday evening. Very straight forward procedure with no issues except the wiper blade swap-out, took 1 hour.... LOL.. The car took 7 quarts of Mobil 1 0W-40 and filled
to the proper mark on the MFD display (in the green). Drove it 4 or 5 times over the weekend and checked the oil quantity level multiple times, ops checked great! Engine runs smoother and gained at least 10hp Ha!
im not sure how it works over there, if someone told you one thing about warranty. There bounds to be someone else told you something else.
Ask your dealership if it does, that's the most important part.
Be because they are they one ends up doing the warranty work.
Ive visited my dealership, I didn't buy the car from them, bought extended warranty elsewhere, they now have all the warranty paperwork in my profile now and welcomes you when you have a mechanical / electrical failure.
What im saying is: promoting a healthy relationship with your dealership is a key here.
