Yeah, there is definitely a technique on the installation process, and stretching the material is one of the area's where these guys know best, and that's really from doing so many installs and every car has different shape ands so on. The key is not to worry where all the joints lay; make sure you have enough Gel under the film so it can be maneuvered easily and start on one corner and work you way around and as you're doing this process you'll see that the other joints gradually start to line up where they should be. In my case I was dealing with a 45deg angle joints and I should have had both films on so I could have had a better control where the joints met.

That turned out great! Nice job. I love to see/read DIY success stories. Where there's a will, there's a way for sure. I may tackle this on my wife's next car. It actually looks kind of fun. I tinted the garage door windows myself and saved a few hundred bucks. Applying PPF looks similar but of course, more complex. Hats off to all DIYers!
