Slick "new" sync feature in RaceRender3
I've been using the Krause method to sync data and video in RaceRender by using the start of movement. It works reasonably well and I've gotten quite good at it. However, it is still kind of figitity.
I don't normally bother with SW updates because nothing is really new and if the SW is working fine, sometimes updates actually break stuff. However, I noticed an interesting feature add as of version 3.4.1:
This thing is slick. Here is the description:
You can pick a number of events. I picked the first time I shifted to 3rd gear. Advanced the video to the 2-3 upshift and hit the button and voila, video synced!
Nice! Hat tip to those guys at RaceRender.

Data Sync Wizard - Easy guided tool that helps you synchronize a data input based on an event that is also visible in your video (or other displayed inputs). Select a Data Event (start/stop moving, crossing start/finish line, changing gears, etc.), seek the main preview to where the video shows that same event, and then click the button to synchronize that data file's timing.
(This button only appears when you have selected a Data input file)

Cool! No more "Krause method" required!
Love it!

Thanks for the heads-up, I'd have never gone looking...
Oblig interesting content - some in-car from my P2 Prototype last weekend at the Gingerman Majors...
More will be coming, as I finish processing and upload. Had a hard fight to keep in front of the yellow P2 driven by Dick Colborn (currently leading the points nationwide, in a backup car)...
And for those looking closely... yes, I'm tippytoeing through the fast stuff. That's 'cause a new setup gave us some real evil aero imbalance issues... which we're now looking forward to sorting out. The car started to get real twitchy above 75mph, and I did manage to put it sideways at 100 numerous times...
