Weird Aim Data

Weird Aim Data
@Matt Romanowski @ProCoach or anyone else really, have any of you ever seen this issue in the below video before? I am using an AIM Solo 2DL in a 2019 Cayman GTS, canbus. Essentially, for both brake (brake pressure) and throttle (pedal %), the read value will just cut out and drop completely linearly, it will eventually come back but for a short period of time it just drops. For example at 10:35 in the video I'm 100% throttle (which you can tell by the fact that my speed is increasing) but the throttle % drops linearly (while the brake pressure increases linearly), does a very odd linear increase at around 10:45 then actually picks up the accurate position at around 10:48. This is the first time this has happened to me in around 2.5 years and the only thing that is different is that I applied a firmware update before I went, the data logging went crazy so I reverted back to my old firmware. It doesn't do it constantly but enough where it is bothersome. I welcome any thoughts. Thanks all!

Are you connected through the OBDII port?

No, I'm connected through canbus. It's been running fine for 2.5 years. The only change was a firmware update, it made the data super weird, I reverted it back to an older firmware and the problem got better but is still there. Not sure if those two things are related ...

If there is continuous GPS measure logging (GPS speed, GPS acceleration, lap timing), but only car info drops, I’d look hard at your connection to the car.

@ProCoach Adding a little more info. Below is a screenshot of the data, it corresponds to the lap I posted above. Look how the throttle dips linearly at the same time the brake increases linearly - I don't even left foot brake, but then the data returns to normal. The area in question is highlighted in yellow. If it was a bad or loose connection wouldn't the data just go to zero?

It almost looks like someone put in some logic to extrapolate the data when there are missing data points in an intake stream. That would keep the data clean if the cutouts were very short. Here it just looks freaky. AiM has been around a long time and in lots of conditions, it feels like something some crazy Italian might have done. 🤪
If you’ve been running for a couple years, maybe your connection became compromised. I’d closely inspect where you tied into the bus, and also look for a lump in the the wiring harness. On mine there was a resistor for where the wire gauge stepped down, and I had a break there.
