VBox HD2 - Driving a track that's not in the database?
Hello,
I am going to be driving a track that is not already in the database for my VBox HD2. I haven't done that before... are there any different procedures I need to go through to get my system set up etc...? I did some searching on the Racelogic website, but didn't find what I was looking for - I'm sure it's there, just couldn't locate it! This scenario must happen often (autocross for example)... I'm definitely looking for a path of least resistance, if one exists!
Thank you,
Tom

Kind of a pain for the recorded video, as the background will show the last track you've been to, if it's set up with auto-track mapping. It won't show lap times because it doesn't know where start/finish is in the box. You can build a track fairly easily after the first run and load it into a scene specifically named for that track, then load that scene into the box.
Easy peasy on the analysis, though. Using the start/finish wizard, just insert the start/finish and all your data and video will match up, showing lap times, sector times, et cetera. Just the map won't match and you won't have on screen lap times in the video.
You can add a start/finish manually using the OLED, too.
What track?

The track is at Spring Mountain in NV. I think it's a new section they've recently added - Charleston Peak. I've looked at the database list of tracks and Spring Mountain is in there, just not this new section - at least as far as I could tell. I think it's pretty new, but there have been some groups that've run it... maybe someone has already built it?
Thanks for the help,
Tom

If you run it and send them the .vbo, sometimes they can help make one up. New tracks are added every few months.

Reach out to Dave Lock or one of the guys in Michigan. Does it share start/finish with any other configurations? That way, the map on the background of the video might not be right, but lap times will work, predictive and all of that.

sending a support request to Racelogic.com will reach them. Or you can call.

I wanted to close the loop on this... I've been emailing with Mitchell at Racelogic's tech support and he really hooked me up! He created a map of the track and a start finish line file for me which he sent with instructions on how to modify my scene for this specific track. I got it all set up and loaded and am ready to go. I have to give big props to Racelogic's tech support - Mitchell was great to deal with and did all the heavy lifting by creating the files and instructions which made it pretty easy for me.
