He's on the ISO protocol https://www.aim-sportline.com/downlo...-2_101_eng.pdf In my experience, the RPM was too slow to be of much use. Water temp is slow, but it's ok for reading that.

Thank you Matt for explaining and helping yesterday, I need to figure out what to do with the water temp sensor,
On the K line, you can only get water temp and RPM on my 98. I believe I can use PIN 9 for RPM instead of the K line. The issue is I will lose the water temp reading.
There is no fuel level reading from the K line on my car. The TPS is borderline useless

You are correct in what you plan to do. The ECU and Kline are one or the other. If you want water temp, you are better off adding the sensor. You'll get better data and be able to use the TPMS.
