No prob. I have all the spec sheets and instructions for all of the connectors.

The tool less connection thing is sort of funny. It really is a nice connector, but not a big deal. Though I guess it's an easy to way disconnect power in the car when you need to. I would guess it was driven by a few factors, but never asked directly. It won't change now, so it's what we get!

Quick dirty comparison of Displays, PDM08, PDM32, vs MXG 1.2
A few things don't make sense, but these are copied from technical pages.
One thing missing from the PDMxx that makes me go hmmmm, is the Wifi.
Haven't compared the details of display configurations, or math channels.

The PDM32 has 12 inputs - 8 analog and 4 digital. The PDM8 has 6 total inputs. All 1.2 devices will work with a steering wheel or GS-Dash and the remote push button modules. In fact, all AiM expansion products with with the PDM and current dashes (minus the old memory module).

The WiFi not being included (as said by Fabrizzio the hardware designer) is the machined aluminum case precludes putting the WiFi antenna in the PDM.

^ That was one of the confusing things about the tech sheets, the PDM32 data sheet says:
14 fully configurable, recorded at max 500 Hz each:
8 analog (0-5V ; 0-12V)/digital inputs
4 digital inputs
2 speed inputs
"In fact, all AiM expansion products [work] with the PDM and current dashes"
Maybe all the "dashes", but not the MXm.

I can see the confusion in it. The speeds inputs should be thought of independently as they are only good for speed. The 8 analog inputs can be regular analog or set as digital inputs (on/off). The 4 inputs (9-12) are only digital inputs, or which 11 or 12 can/will be used to turn on the PDM when you want power to something while keeping the display off (like hazard lights or a cooling fan).

Yes, the MXm only works with the SCHD and LCU-One but none of the others.

Tomorrow is the update webinar from Fabrizzio on the PDM. If you are not already on the webinars, here is the link to sign up https://aimsports.zoom.us/webinar/re...T0S-gsuMhJ251Q

Also of interest to some folks, there will be a SAP-32 that will be just the PDM functions without GPS, logging, or display options. No word on price or when it will be released, but it will be a great alternative for people who just want a PDM or to use with other data systems.

Freeride will likely sell me his mxm if you guys can convince him it won't work for him so everyone please keep that as your primary goal here.

I don't see anyway he could be successful with it

Basically suicide to continue using it, IMHO.

Suicide sounds like the best way out of using it to me. It only gets worse from there.

I'm playing around in RS3-beta, configuring a PDM32.
There is no channel dedicated to RPM, and there's no 'RPM' function available in the analog channel configurations.

Display configuration and Math channels seem to want a pre-dedicated RPM channel.
Is the ECU stream the only way to provide a pre-dedicated RPM channel?
Being OBD1, this may be a show stopper for me.

Longish story, but on these first units you have to use an AiM supplied analog to CAN converter for RPM. A revision of hardware will have the ROM input in the PDM itself.

Now that winter is approaching, back to looking at options (08 vs 32, 10 vs 6, etc)

So AiM provides with the PDM purchase, at no additional cost, a converter for a pulsed-RPM-signal-to-CAN protocol, that then the PDMxx and AiM s/w understands?
Is it one of the current Manufacturers/Models in the RS3-beta CAN2 selection menu? (That is, how can I set up RS3-beta to mimic this?)
