I started setting up the S2DL’s at .2 intervals because that offered a plus/minus spread of one second. Then. I switched from having the LED’s showing less than the current variance staying lit to having only the current interval LED on, so not only was it color sensitive, but position sensitive without the distraction of LOTS of LED’s flashing and looking like a Christmas tree.
Does RS3 Analysis (which is not yet in beta) show synced video yet, or any video at all within the Analysis window? That’s all most of the folks I talk to want to know...

Yes, video synced to data by position, time, or lap distance. We had it for up to 3 laps at once, not sure how many total it will do.You can click on the GPS map (overlaid on a Google sat image) for position or in the measures graph.
Other cool things off the top of my head were much improved filter of the database, a bit of a different way of looking at the data -automated "preview screens" similar to a profile that showed test specific things like Lat G on a map bar graph style, basic speed plot, accel vs time, etc. It was a neat way to look at basic data items with basically a pre-configured profile. Not sure if I'm explaining it well. They are adding the ability to do heat maps (think the bar graph on a track shape colored for a second channel) in some items. Improved math channel handling. It's also a completely different look, but the GUI isn't too far along yet. We were intererupted before we got too much of the other parts done. Overall I think it has some really exciting features.
Sorry I was eating while I posted that and then getting back to the hotel. It took a bit since we missed the last shuttle at 7 pm and had to get a Lyft. If you have specific questions - give me a call tomorrow and I'm happy to get you answers. I'm off to bed now - I was up at 5 am and had a pretty busy day.

The integration looked great. I want to get more info on it today. I had a good talk with Steve Hoelscher, who's launching a new data acquisition product, about sync and he raised some interesting points on how the current systems integrate video and the problems they have.
I'd get a screen shot of RS3A to share, but the GUI is not done and I'm sure they wouldn't want to share it at this point.
It was on FB, but AiM has a new person dedicated to the iOS app development starting 12/15 as well.

Without knowing what Steve's issues with existing systems, I may be speaking prematurely, but I'd rather have an AIM system with the same issues as the competition right now, then to wait for a better system 12 months (or much later) hence. AND... I don't want to have to buy all new hardware to have that superior system, particularly when my MXL2 is integrated into my GMX-5.
Great news on an emphasis for iOS.
Keep the news coming and stay warm!

All good news.
Steve had a great run and was integral to the success of Race-Keeper, which have had a really good auto-synced video within the data feature for the last ten years. MoTeC have had that, too. Cosworth’s PDR is superb, and so easy to use. Traqmate have for longer than all of those, with ANY camera. And, VBOX justifies to GPS position for much more accurate heading, track position and slip comparison. The tech challenges for this have been surmounted by every other major hardware/software supplier, hence the popcorn. But, glad to hear.
It’ll be great when AiM gets on that bandwagon. Really excited to see something in hand, even beta. The last hurdle to modernize and make easier to use some great products.

Peter, years ago I asked you about the AIM shift light which was depicted in their advertising material but had not yet been released. You pointed me toward a stand-alone Australian product called Ecliptech. I bought one and installed it and have been very happy with it. So, it's interesting to see that... what...now three years later, AIM is finally releasing the shift light. By the way, I visited the Ecliptech website and saw that the product I own has been discontinued and replaced with an upgraded version... the Shift P-2.

A few other nice AiM products that were released. The motorsport SCHD GP is the same one they use in Indycars now. Not many club guys are going to want it, but a great camera.
The PDM is really nice. Great power connector, very configurable, and available second quarter 2019 most likely. It's an offshoot of the technology in the UTV and Strada dashes, so it should be on schedule.
The guys at AiM have been doing a TON of behind the scenes work in the hardware, firmware, and software with an eye on the future. Maybe I'm easily excitable, but things are looking good!

The nice thing about the PRO version of the AiM SmartyCAM GP v2.2 is that it’s the same piece as the consumer version that’s been out for a few months, just with Autosport connectors to integrate with proper Motorsport wiring harnesses. The consumer version gets the same quality innards and boasts the same improvement in resistance to EMI and great image quality.
Waiting for software improvements with anticipation!

It won't be for a while from my understanding this week. The sensor technology has changed enough now that they are able to do things differently technically in the hardware and firmware to still have a good image and product.

Two versions of the MoTeC SLM, the less expensive SLM-C, used with the CDL and SDL Sport display loggers and the more expensive SLM, for use with the C1XX color display loggers and ADL2/ADL3 display loggers. There is a great deal more configurability with the MoTeC SLM, to indicate brake lockup for instance, varying brake pressure limits, temperatures and pressure alarms, pretty remarkable and almost infinitely configurable.
The AIM SLM shows at least shift lights and some of the predictive color LED's perhaps, depending on what AiM logger you're using to connect to the AiM SLM.
