Hey now, everyone! Don't pick on him. He obviously visited the wrong forum. FYI, OP, this is Rennlist for Porsche owners. You must have intended on visiting www.stangnet.com for Mustang owners. Click the link. It'll redirect you. Glad to help.

Is there a realistic alternative in cooler climates?
Thinking of ordering and using most days year round. Too cold to wash myself from mid September to mid April at best. Only hand wash option is all day drop off and round trip Uber- just not worth spending 2-4 days a month of my leisure time to do this. My white M3 has had 8+ years of commercial car washes (~180 in total) and it looks almost new. Is there a reason to expect a different result from a 911? I am quite sincere about this. Thanks for giving me serious answers. BTW would get white, chalk or GB and plan to keep 8-12 years as I will retire in 5 years and only drive about 5K per year.

No offense to the OP but, this could be the funniest thread I've seen on here yet.

This 911 was so upset about being taken to a car wash, it gave its life trying to kill the car wash so no others would have to face the same humiliation.

Our cars are a passion and a highly prized possession. I could not imagine putting my baby through that torture chamber. But, to each his own.

My wife has a BMW M6 in black and she goes to the "in and out" commercial washers and I have to get her paint corrected often. It's often full of swirls and scratches. Those places are not made to clean your car gently. They are about speed and volume. I have seen pickup trucks full of mud coat all the brushes and wipers. I shudder to think about what that does to your finish.
