What is the best product for a white P-car?
I am very interested in claying my car, and protecting the paint finish of my car for years to come. My car is a 2010 GT3 RS, and I have been researching different products from Swissvax, Zymol, etc.
I am very confused to the best product to get for my baby. Can someone help this poor child figure out a good product to pamper my girl. Thanks a million in advance.

The prep is more important than the final product. Proper washing, proper claying, proper washing, proper polishing, and then your final coat of wax or sealant.
I really like my Rejex Wax (Bumperplugs) on my Carrara White Boxster. I also used Zaino (Z2 and Z5) products for a few years with great results.

And make sure you use painter's tape (blue or green) and tape-off all those decal edges on your RS. What might take 30-60 minutes in taping time will save you hours (and give better results) of clean-up time if you load up your decal edges with wax.

1. What are your detailing goals for this vehicle
2. How often is teh vehicle used (i.e. daily driver, week-end vehicle)

The goal is to provide a good level of protection for the paint. I want to remove any oxidation and be able to extract the paints natural glow.
The car is used primarily as a joy car. I take it to the office twice a week and drive the car sporadically during weekend. I take it to the track 4-5 times a year.

If you are completely new to car detailing, these video's would help you get on track:
http://www.adamspolishes.com/t-videos.aspx
What is shown there will apply no matter if you stick with Adam's products or will choose to go with other brands. As for what products are the best, I would recommend this forum:
http://www.detailingbliss.com/
Lots of hands on reviews and product discussions there.
Cheers!

1. Wash
2. Detailer’s clay (surface contaminants) and then light wash / rinse or
a) Chemical Paint Cleaner
3. Dry paint surfaces
4. Tape protection (edges, emblems, panel edges, etc)
5. Check paint thickness (PTG) if not within ‘safe’ parameters use a Glaze and then proceed to 10
6. Test Panel Process to select polish / pad combination required
7. Polish surface
8. Paint inspection wipe down
9. Final polish
10. *Apply paint protection
a) Carnauba wax will provide depth and a 'wet-look'
b) A coating (Opti-Coat) will provide durable protection for the track

Thanks everyone for some great input.
@togwt- what type of rotary orbital buffer do you recommend?
Would any of the carnubas do the job? I know some products have higher concentration of carnubas than others (30%-50%).
Is Opti-coat placed over the carnuba layer?

I completely agree with what everyone here says about prep being the key. With that said, you can spend an awful lot of money on products and time (as I did) and still not get great prep results. Checking paint thickness, claying and using the rotary polishing machine takes quite a bit of trial and error. I take mine in every spring to get the prep/clay done by guys who do it for a living and then have fun washing and waxing the rest of the year (or summer for me).
Waxes? Buy a few and see what you like. I think anything over $50, a placebo shine occurs. I like the 3M Perfect It-Show Car Wax. $20 a can and it seems to hit a great sweet spot between wet look and long life and very easy to apply. But everyone has a favorite.
Have fun!

Q: @togwt- what type of rotary orbital buffer do you recommend?
Groits random orbital polisher
Q: Would any of the carnubas do the job? I know some products have higher concentration of carnubas than others (30%-50%).
Try P21S Carnauba Wax, inexpensive, although you’d never know it from the gloss provided
30 to 37% by weight is the most Carnauba wax content, otherwise it becomes a solid
Q: Is Opti-coat placed over the carnuba layer?
No- Opti-Coat and then a Carnauba wax

I bought a Porter Cable 7424 XP Dual Action Orbital Polisher along with a variety of products from Adams. I found the results to be outstanding on all my cars. I have a white MB and the depth and shine is amazing. If you watch the videos from Adams you will realize it's pretty idiot proof and you can take pride in doing it yourself. I also suggest checking out www.detailersdomain.com for a huge assortment of Adams products as well as the buffer. Good luck.

I appreciate everyone for all your input. I am definitely investing in the Porter Cable 7224. I have been looking for a good shampoo and I think I am picking Dodo Juice.
Wolfgang chemical cleaner paintwork
Sealant- deep gloss sealant- to protect the paint for 6-8 months.
And a Wax....between Wolfgang Fusion, p21S, Swissvax, and Menzerna. what do you guys think so far?
