Default Mirror gunk

I've just taken off my flag mirrors and want to remove the residue/ gunk that's built up after 20 years, any suggestions?

use a chemical paint cleaner (Zaino Z-PC Fusion Dual Action Paint Cleaner or Klasse AIO) or a safe solvent (Wurth Citrus Degreaser )

I would go in the following order and be really careful with the first step since the gunk may be abrasive.

P21S Total Auto Wash
Blend of Isopropyl and Water
Clay
