Default Help: Let my Zymol Carbon Dry Too Much

I searched the forum and got some info, but want to get people's opinions before I risk any damage to my 964.

Here is the situation. I have a black 964 and was applying Zymol Carbon over the weekend. In the middle of the job, the weather got worse and a few drops started falling. I pulled the car in the garage, but had a large section that had wax applied that I had not yet removed.

Long story short, the wax was too dry by the time I tried to remove it and it would not come off. Compunding the problem was the fact that the wax was dry but rain got on it. So when I took off what I could the wax sort of turned blueish and now my car has really bad streaks on it (blue, grey, you name it).

I suspect that removing all of the wax with Dawn or some other soap will get me back to square one. Is that the best next step? Or how about letting it sity in the sun and heat up and then try to wipe the wax off?

Anyone else experience this and have a solution? Thanks.

What if you re-wax a small test area?

I did not see much else on their web-site.

Try spraying the car down with cold water and wiping it down with a few microfibers.

If that doesn't do it you'll need to go a step further and wash it using regular car wash soap.

Dawn should be a last resort, too harsh IMHO.

you can also use the hd cleanse again and go over the waxed area to remove and reapply the carbon.

try a small test area but that should work.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I'm going to just wash it again and see what happens. It sounds like i probably didn't do any real damage, just wasted my time. I'll let you know how it runs out next weekend.

Re-wax the area with carbon and that should do the trick. If that doesn't do it, as Phil mentioned, HD-Cleanse again, then wax. No harm done. Great learning experience.

Okay, all better now. I washed it as normal, re-waxed, and it is fine. Whew. Thanks.

Pleased to see you have sorted that one out.

Just out of interest did you get a reply from Zymol, as i never did when i sent two questions to them over a week as i could not get a good finish on my Damlier Super v8?
