Rag Tops
Since I have moved over to a 2002 Boxster S with a rag top, I have tried to find a few good artilcles on detailing the rag top & plastic window. A few have indicated that raggtop & plexus are the products to use which I have ordered. I am unsure as to properly clean the top first and then how to use the products correctly. It would be nice to see a few rag top articles seeing as there is a large rag top community here and not only the boxster crowd.

Hope this helps...
Equipment
3M Lint Tape
Air Compressor ( Optional )
Chenille Mitt
Wet/Dry Vacuum
303 Fabric Cleaner( substitute with your fav softop cleaner - Raggtop )
303 Aerospace Protectant( substitute with your fav softop protectant - Raggtop )
Step 1
3M Lint Tape - When I tackle soft tops I first use lint tape to remove any access bits. I usually pull out about a 2 foot length of 3M lint tape which makes it easier and quicker to pull off the loose dirt.
Step 2 (optional)
Air Compressor - Then once you're done doing that to the entire softtop, if you do have an air compressor just quickly blow the top.
Step 3
Once I'm sure most of the loose particulates are off I spray 303 aerospace fabric cleaner or Raggtop and I aggitate with a soft chenille mitt. Once that's done I rinse.
Step 4
Blot dry with your fav Waffle Weave MF. Blot drying will avoid lint on the softtop. If you have a wet and dry vac you can use it to vac the access water on the soft top and hasten the drying process.
Step 4
Dress the top with your favourite protectant. I use 303 aerospace protectant but you can also use Raggtop.
Cheers,
Nick
