Black Lug Nuts?
I posed this on the OT forum and someone recommended I post it here as well:
I've now been through 2 sets of powder coated black lug nuts. Unfortunately the powdercoat keeps peeling off.
Does any one know where I can get a real set of black lug nuts?
Thanks!!

If the lug nuts are aluminum you can have them black anodized.

Gun black treatment
Mine are kind of funky on my '08 Cayman. I'm thinking of trying some gun black (like gun blue but black) on them. Kit from Brownell's is around $20. Anyone tried this?

I got mine direct from my Porsche dealer. They installed them when I had a routine service. They held up very well. Painted black, hardly any wear. Call your local Porsche dealer and see if they have the painted black lug nuts.

May I know how did you pay? Just curious here so that I have an idea if I ask my dealer for black lug nuts.

If you take your wheels off on a regular basis, your lug nuts will get funky, even with a padded socket. I touch mine up with a black Sharpie and that does well from 6". I bought some plastic caps from Sierra Madre that cover the end of the lug nut (they still have chrome ones but I don't see the black ones anymore: http://www.sierramadrecollection.com...me-p15967.html). These are a pain to get on and I only use them for concours with my 993. I did not like them at all on exposed lugs like on my Carrera 3.2 Fuchs because you could see the edge of the cover, but only the top of the lugs in the recess of the wheel for the 993 show. I'm still learning to put them on more quickly.
