I've debatetd about offering detailing services but I really want to limit it to concours type details. I can't justify doing anything else at this point.

I can't fathom how anyone can mess up paint correction that badly.

i hear you on that one but what was great was once a customer gets burned like that its easy to tell him why the 199-250 details are just that, he was didn't even blink when I told him the price.

You bring up a really good point. A friend of mine spent $300 to have his 928 polished and when I saw it I said...are you serious? You paid the guy to do this to your paint? When I showed him the wool pad marks on the paint he was fuming. I did the correction for him and the next day I remember him getting tons of complements on his paint. I didn't pipe up about it but I should have.

I talk to people about paint polishing all the time and when I state what I would charge they usually say....well for that price I can have the whole car washed, polished and detailed. At that point I smile and say I can't justify doing that kind of work for less.

Funny thing is that most won't discover a hacks work until its too late. They usually discover the damage when the glaze has worn away two or three weeks later.
