Well, I ordered the leather touchup kit from Leather Magic. I followed their instructions which included cleaning, light sanding, prep solution, followed by coloring. I used their foam brush, although they provide a can of propellant and nozzle to spray it on if so desired.

I'm very pleased with my first time results. They're not absolutely perfect, but you would really have to look hard to tell. Certainly MUCH better than before. I have no doubt I could do a better job the second time around, but if it's not broke....

Here is the before and two after shots:

Jarrod that looks excellent! Very good work!. I also didn't use the aerosol, only a brush and my fingertips.

Put some conditioner on the painted leather and gently buff it with a foam sponge, it should help create the same satin finish as the rest of the seat.

Thanks Afshin! Will do. I haven't touched them since I did the work. What conditioner would you recommend?

Leathermasters Vital is a very good product. Easy to use and consistent finish. It doesn't really have an odor either so you're Porsche leather smell will come thru.

Excellent, I already have the Leathermaster Vital. I thought there was some final conditioner to use after that. Thanks again.

Wow!! Looks great....I think I need to place an order. In your opinion, would the spray yield more consistent texture?

One of my previous cars had been redyed using a spray and the finish was rough and dull.

Do you have a large area to cover on your seats?

Great job guys. I'll keep this mind as my seats and components need a little work.

If the wear is limited to fine creases, I would use an artists brush. If the area is broader like Jarrod's I would use the foam brush.

Spraying IMHO will put the dye in places you don't want such as the stitching and or piping (I don't think the 993 does).

Spraying can also create overspray on areas you don't want like the trim and seat belts. I've always preferred to have full control over the application of the dye.

Give it a try and post some before/after pics.

Good to see you on here Mark! I see you're still keeping up with the detailing.

I still miss SoCal, especially this time of year with the winter dwindling and the roads falling apart from the frost heaves. What I wouldn't give for a run on Mt Palomar in the 928.

That looks real good, but it is not a very good testimonial since the "after" pictures are not the same seat as the "before" picture.
