Default simple effective glass cleaner - suggestions?

I am wondering if someone can provide some advice on a cleaner that really works to get off the simple everyday grime from the outside and inside of automotive glass. I have yet to find a cleaner that really works. I seem to just keep cleaning and cleaning but never really get clear glass. Is the old school method of water, vinegar and newspaper the way to go for a simple, effective and safe cleaning of automotive glass? Thanks in advance, Glenn

The only glass cleaner I use, for about 6 years now, is Meguiar's Detailer Line Glass Cleaner. Meguiar's makes several different lines and their Detailer Line is the best IMHO. This stuff is amazing. You also need a good microfiber glass towel that doesn't leave lint behind. Pair the two and your glass problems are dramatically minimized or eliminated.

You need three ingredients for crystal clear glass.

1. 90% Isopropyl Alcohol
2. Distilled Water
3. A Microfiber designed specifically for glass

Mix a 60% Isopropyl / 40% Distill Water in your favorite sprayer. I recommend buying a Griots Spray bottle/sprayer since they last forever and offer a decent mist.

Spray and wipe.

I've been using this combo for 7 years on the car, in the home and anywhere we want a crystal clear/clean finish. Never been docked at a concours for dirty/hazy windows either.

(Malt or Blend?)

CorsaCloth – a micro fibre glass cleaning cloth that cleans almost anything, leaving a streak-free, spot-free, dust-free and lint-free finish. The key is to use friction to break the surface tension of the dirty film. The cloth scrubs the surface and conditions it for dirt removal. The follow-up wipe removes the residue and renders the glass clean. This cloth will not scratch, however trapped grit or debris will cause scratches.

This distinctive cloth cleans with plain water, it removes film, dirt, oil, grease, finger prints, dog nose prints, etc all without the use of chemicals, for severe out gassing or the removal of stubborn grime; spray the glass surface (otherwise you are diluting the product strength) with a 1:10 solution distilled water /Isopropyl alcohol and wipe with a clean cloth and the result is a crystal clear finish

I'll throw in a tip I use more for maintaining your glass, once you have the glass cleaned to your liking, protect it with a sealant or wax. This will help make future cleanings significantly easier, especially for things like bug splatter, etc. Just keep in mind if you go the alcohol route as your cleaner, you'll strip off the protection on the glass.

Afshin.... I like the idea of a home-made product. I'll give it a try. Thanks
TOGWT... Do you know of a good supplier of Corsa Cloth? That sounds like an amazing product.

After your glass is clean, aquapel works great. Lasts much longer then rain-x and does not smear when it comes to the end of its life.

I have a few of the corsa cloths and they really work nice. I use them on just about everything in and around the car. Windows first, then I use them to dust out the interior. Great getting bugs off too!
