Default Leather steering wheel--anyone refinish?

I have seen posts of pretty amazing leather repair and refinishing. Have any of you ever had the leather on your steering wheel redyed and refinished? My 5 year old daily driver is showing a little age. By the way, color is natural brown (I would describe it as "saddle" as it is pretty light).
Thanks!

Do a search in the 993 forum. Several members have done it with good success.

two people paul champagne or Robert Budd... they will completely redo the wheel for around 300 bucks, and the work for both is amazing... and custom... Budd just completed an entire interior of a 928s for me that was in the Sept issue of Excellence.

Thanks all-I do not think I am in quite a need of a complete redo (unless I screw it up any more). The leather is quite smooth, but just a little discolored under the hand locations (10 and 2). I think I removed a little of the final finish trying to clean one spot, but it is still quite smooth. Perhaps a careful application of a Color Plus stain is the best approach. (or perhaps just live with it!)

I have used Leatherique on two of my cars Rejuvenator and Pristine Clean for conditioning and cleaning. I also use Prestine Clean for regular maintenance of all my leather with great results.

You may want to try this first before using a colorant, it will help determine what areas are really damaged which areas are just dirty.

Good luck.
