Default Recommendation on QD

What do you recommend for a quick detailer? Is there a "best" product or will any of them do the job?

I personally like Zymol Field Glaze and Detail. I've heard great things about Optimum as well...just haven't used it yet.

Finish Kare's 425 and 146 work well too and they don't seem to attract a lot of dust.

Quick Detailing (QD):
Have many uses; to aid in final drying to remove water spots, used with Zaino (Z6) to help ‘smooth-out’ finish between coats of sealants, it also removes smearing from the over-use of product. Use a 1:1 solution of a detailing spray and distilled water as it makes them easier to apply and more economical. I would advise against using them for dust removal as they could cause surface marring due to friction, instead use a California duster. To remove heavy dust use Optimum No Rinse (ONR) a waterless wash as it will provide better surface lubrication and is formulated with surfactants to keep dirt in suspension.

Most quick detailing sprays diminish true surface slipperiness every time they are used. This occurs because a polymer is not easily adaptable to a spray formula. To be efficient the polymer needs to be emulsified to work as a spray, most quick detail sprays create a short-lived, slippery finish by using silicone oils and water but this attracts dust and do little to increase durability.

Alternative product-
a) Carnauba - Pinnacle Crystal Mist is a blend of super-refined, Brazilian Ivory Carnauba wax, conditioning oils, and crystalline polymers. Apply a micro-fine layer after applying Souveran Carnauba wax

b) Acrylic -Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield is a high gloss, acrylic sealant that mists on and buffs off with ease. It can be used on top of any polymer or acrylic paint sealant to increase shine and extend protection

c) Polymer -Zaino Brothers Z-8 Grand Finale™ Spray Seal should be used if the polymer is Z2PRO™ as it is formulated with a specialized polymeric protection system providing enhanced optical qualities

I use Optimum wax, or Pinnacle Crystal Mist.
