Default CR Spotless

I got the CR Spotless about a month ago and must say was a skeptic. I washed my truck one night after work and was too lazy to dry and Field Glaze it. So it sat outside and to my surprise, was spot free the next day. The glass was crystal clear and the finish was spot-free. I'm still trying to figure out a way to not go through resin so much. I'm going on my third refill. Since the water quality differs from location to location, I'm trying to figure out how to pre-treat the water before it goes into the system. I tried a soft water filter I bought at Lowes, but it didn't do anything to reduce the PPM reading. Anyone have a suggestion? Other than that, the unit is great. The avg. user should get anywhere from 250-800 gallons from a single batch with the larger unit. Oh, an added perk is I don't use a micro drying cloth to dry cars. I blow the water away with the Airmax blower and the car comes out halogram-free and I've noticed the small micro-swirls from the drying are reduced. I'll post some pics up next week on my test car. It's a 2005 CLK500 that I've detailed weekly since the client purchased it.

Moe, as you know I also bought the CR Spotless unit and use the Double K blower for drying. I do use a waffle towel for touch up, always seems you can't get all the water off. The blower is great for door jams, wheels, hoods, etc.

I bought extra bags of resin but haven't needed to change out yet. My use is a fraction of yours.

The CR is a great unit, but I think you may be better off buying a rectangular tank for your truck and just fill it with purchased DI water from a wholesale source, it may be less expensive for you. Have you check into this option?

PM me...I'm a distributor. By the way, I did manage to find out if you go to a cation/anion mixture, you get twice the life than the mixed bed which come with the unit. The cation resin goes in one chamber and the anion resin goes in the other. You won't get the 0 PPM reading that you would get with the mixed bed, but it'll be around 5 PPM, which is still spotless if less than 25-30. The advantage is twice the life. I'll keep you guys updated on my findings.

Being an "older thread" I hate to bring it to the top...but I was wondering what your readings where from your water source? My readings are about 650ppm from the tap. How are your sources?

Just got the system today and am looking forward to using it on the 'ol lapis blue cab!

Keep in mind to use it as a final rinse; not all the way to wash, etc. This way you should only use about 5-10 gallons max per wash.
