Default Porsche Engine Detail

Had to do a full makeover on this Porsche the other day. It had a leaky sunroof and there was mold growing on and under the rear seats. They had to be refinished plus I may need to dye the carpets as the previous owner spilled coffee everywhere...even the buttons where stuck, like the windows buttons.

Paint had to be wetsanded and polished back out, several dings had to be worked out also. I took several pictures of it and I'll try and post them up later but for now I have a few BEFORE and AFTER shots of the engine area.

BEFORE:

I did this with a series of brushes, some degreaser and my trusy steam vapor cleaner. It was then dressed with Optimum Protectant Plus.

Thanks,
Anthony

Really looks great ! The steam cleaner must be the ticket.
Do you know about a Porsche Concours in Austin Oct.7th and 8th ?
Has any of your customers asked to have their cars done by then ?
The show is at Roger Beasley Porsche put on by the Austin PCA
www.hcrpca.org
I 'll be there and would love to see some of your work in person !

Thank you

the whole car took me two days but the engine alone took about an hour and 45 minutes including the re-assembly of some parts.

Hey Chuck,

Yes the steamer is the ticket....love my machine and while it costs alot of money it's paid for itself now many times over.

There is a very good chance that I'll be there for that show "IF" the Porsche I'll be showing is ready. It's having some carbon fiber work done to it. It's a yellow 993 and I would love to meet up with you and any other Rennlist members that are planning on going.

I'll know for sure in the next few days.

Take care,
Anthony

Hey, I use this one here....http://www.topoftheline.com/vaporblitziv.html

There are more expensive units but not always does that mean better. My buddy bought a $1200.00 steamer and has had nothing but trouble with it and it's not even a year old.

My little unit has held up great..no problems except for some cord breakage but that was easily fixed and it's over 2 years old now.

Also thanks for the compliment,
Anthony

Great job Anthony, I love these before and after sequences. I think I saw more of this car on a post by you over at Autopia. It's amazing how people will mis-treat cars...

Anthony,
How's the 993 coming along ?
I'm a judge for the concours, any help you need, let me know.
Looking forward to meeting you and seeing some of your work.
You do realize that you can just show a car without entering it in the
concours. Other cars can be shown, with permission. For example,
two years ago we had a Lotus Elise, a Ferrari and a VW bus with a
Porsche engine. If I remember correctly, a guy from San Antonio
won that year with an early 70's 911.

Hey Chuck, also looking forward to meeting up with you

What's the entrance fee for judging and when does it start? We are driving in Saturday morning so I need some time to spruce her up.

If everything goes as planned, God willing, I should be there whether I enter a car or not. Thanks for the heads up.

Yo....

I still have to re-do your front lid (perhaps wetsand it) and the engine. I'll need a few hours to tackle both projects.

You coming to Austin with us on Saturday??
