PC - One Pad for Each Car?
Hi:
When using the PC 7424, is it necessary to have one pad for each car?
One of my cars is white and the other is red. One has clearcoat, the other doesn't.
Thanks!

I use a different pad for each product, ie, don't put wax on a pad that you've used polish on. I wash mine in between as well, and use them on any car that I detail (I do it as a side job) and have never had a problem. Good luck,

Steve,
you should have different pads for each type of product any way - completely different.
A polish needs a harder pad than a wax for instance, and pads are specifically designed for the product and delivery and should not be interchanged.

Depending on the cutting action I need I have used a softer pad with a polish to remove light oxidation-I use meguiar's softbuff 8006 and 9006 pads-and I still don't intermix polish pads with wax pads. Some of the combo products (Meguiar's #66 quick detailer for example) use a polishing pad while leaving behind protection once being buffed off, and don't require using a softer wax pad.
