Which clay bar to use?
Are there any out there that are that much better than say the standard mothers clay bar system? Anyone use anything else?
I havent clayed in a long time so I figure its time to break it out. I then plan on using HD Cleanse and P21S...thats the normal ritual anyways

I bought the Pinnacle Clay kit (as I use Pinnacle Souveran wax) and bought the applicator/bonnet/velcro backing plate, etc from Griot's Garage to fit my Porter Cable random orbital (7636 IIRC).
I used my wife's 2000 Excursion (too big to do by hand and she was trading it in for a 2005) as the guinea pig.
I was amazed at how well it actually worked and how smooth the finish was afterwards (did the hand in the plastic baggie and run it over the surface). Just keep the bonnet/clay bar lubricated and you're good to go. It did not add any swirls or scratches that I could see.
I now have no fear of using it on the P cars!

This may be because if the Zaino, but I would have thought that even a wax would protect the paint.
To answer your question, I obviously use Zaino clay, but I've seen others and they all look much the same...except the Griot's (see previous post) which looks quite different (soft and pliable) - sounds like worth a try...

There are basically two types of clay. I know one is a poly-elastic material, much like a rubber eraser. It is very pliable and also very stretchy. I "think" (if I remember correctly) the other is a poly-butene material which is very soft and not as stretchy.
I prefer the elastic clay myself as it is more durable.....BUT...after that all clays are pretty much the same as in they all have abrasives in them, some more than others.
The difference between my clay and the Griots garage clay is PRICE$$$. I pay alot less for the clay I use
