Can anyone suggest a cleaning solution that cleans the greasey film from windows? I used the usual Windex, etc., but it still leaves a hazy film. I'm sure this topic has been discussed before.

That "greasey" window film is "gassing off"...no not from Taco Bell but from your interior.....basically rotting.

Adhesives and such are evaporating and they cling to your windows and can cause one to go bonkers as it only smears from one side to the other.

Windex is horrible so throw that crap away. Some great store bought window cleaner is Eagle One's 20/20. Get some latex gloves and newspaper, wad the newspaper up and spray it with the 20/20. Rub out the glass and then with a clean lint free microfiber towel (not all are lint free) buff the glass out.

You may need to do this several times. Be careful of the newpaper ink transfer on your interior pieces.

Also try white vinegar in lieu of some of the other cleaners just ue it once in a while in place of whatever else you are using.

I use Bon Ami its a powder type cleaner like "comet cleanser", it comes recommended by Gm, and I have used it for years with great results. Its available at Wal-mart.
do not use any other type of powderd cleaner only Bon Ami. You'll want to use it while doing your regular wash job.....it leaves quite a bit of residue and will need a lot of rinsing.

I've been using a product called AutoGlym which is meant to polish automotive glass. It will also remove the reside you're speaking of.

Stoner's Invisible glass with newspaper does the trick for me!

"sprayway" glass cleaner is great, never streaks, great for glass probably bad for the environment. i saw it at an ACE hrdwre and at Restoration Hardware.

One word "Plexus" use it and you will never use anything else. In fact I use it on my whole car. It's a space age spray used for windows on aircraft plastics. Most motorcycle shops carry it and if not a Honda motorcycle dealer will carry something similar.

I don't understand why you would say that. I works great. What do you think it will it do to glass if it's safe for plastic?

I just attended a Concours workshop at Paterek Brother's on Sunday. John Paterek demoed Zebra stuff. Made a believer out of me.

It's okay to use on tinted windows but it's meant for plastic, plexiglas, clear vinyl, etc. I once read that it's not meant for glass.

Try Stoner's Invisible Glass and a clean cotton cloth. Windex is crap!
