Film Protection for Windshield

Film Protection for Windshield
Anyone have any recommendations about putting on a protective film on their windshield? Driving in areas with loose gravel and am considering protection for my windshield. Have heard that the debris pushed around by windshield washers will limit its usefulness.

I tried to get Alchemy ExoShield installed multiple times and after three installers failed to make it happen, I gave up. Instead, I went to a tint shop that does Clearplex and had that installed. I like it. Extra peace of mind, but if it's a daily driver, life expectancy is 1-2 years. They also suggest you put some sort of product on it. A wax or something like BeadMaker that helps the wipers travel over the surface.
If it gets worn or severely pitted, I will absolutely replace it and do it again. I just don't want to deal with a replaced windshield, so it's worth it.

I’ve been running clearplex on my Spyder for the past 5 years and I would definitely do it again. About a year after installation I was behind a gravel truck and as you would expect a large piece came off the truck and bounced hard on my windshield. It left a pretty bad divot on the clearplex but no damage to the glass. I’ve taken some smaller hits too and it’s nice to know that the glass underneath remains perfect. I’ll change it next year when I change the clear bra, it’s due.

I put Clearplex on my 997 earlier this year. No issues with cleaning and clarity is fantastic.
ONLY regret is not doing it sooner. My perfect glass got a bit of rash over two events.
Absolute must if you track at all.

We installed clearplex on 2 of our cars. I would not do it again.
I had it removed on the 911 because its got one scratch across it. This was in addition to the fact that the in stall could never be done perfect (bubbles on edges)
Makes the window a bit blurry. And its expensive. I think it was $50 or so for each car.
The shop I had it installed at was pushing it pretty hard in the beginning and they admintted they are not pushing it as much

What’s the ETA on this? I’m due to have my entire car redone including the windshield. It’s not bad but the mileage is starting to show.
