Hi guys

has anyone experienced the magic clay sponge from https://flawlesscarsponge.com/products/sponge

A guy at work that clay bars a car each time he does his yearly polish is raving about it, i have not seen the results though.

He said it is so quick and easy compared to the old clay bar system.

Is it a case of you get what you pay for?

Any feed back appreciated as about to get the cars ready for the up coming summer here.

Cheers

Synthetic clay is not new, comes in all forms, blocks, towels, sponges. A lot of times for prep I will go over the car with a towel and then touch up the harder impacted areas with traditional clay.

Ditto. Synthetic is nothing new. Plenty of options out there. When used correctly they can be as good as traditional clay and much faster. I've used clay for several years and just tried out a Nanoskin mitt. Fantastic. After washing the car I sprayed it down to get rid of all the dirt-laden soap suds, then just used the remaining soapy water (2-bucket method, so no dirt) and let the soap be the lubricant for the synthetic clay mitt. Clean a section, then rinse the mitt in the rinse bucket and dip it back in the soap bucket, and do you next section. Fast, easy, and when finished I just rinsed the car again. I did go over the car once dry to see if there were any problem areas where the synthetic mitt didn't do a good enough job. On a 15 year old Corvette which had never been clayed befored, it didn't leave anything behind.

Synthetic clay is great. I use Nanoskin product. Can buy from Detailersdomain, Amazon, Autogeek, Obsessed Garage and many others.

I have the Griot's synthetic clay bar and after using it, I won't be going back to traditional clay.
