New to Northville, MI
Hi all, I just moved from NYC to Northville, MI and looking for some decent roads to stretch my car's legs (997.2 C4S). From driving around house hunting I have noticed the roads are not great overall. So far I have been driving my other cars, to spare my 911 some of the random dirt roads I have come across, until I am more familiar with the area...
Any suggestions on safe (smooth-ish) and fun roads? I have heard driving north of this area is pretty good but obviously that is a bit too general.
Also, any good cars and coffee events? I am familiar with the Lingenfelter one... any others? Any good tracks for track days?
Finally, my other cars here are a BMW roadster and a Volvo XC60. I am looking to add a fourth car and would prefer to buy American. Something I can get used under $20k preferably and unfortunately automatic (for my wife, as the BMW and Porsche are stick) ... but ideally a fun car too...I noticed that Mustangs are extremely common, so want to avoid that I think. Also needs to be winter driveable and somewhat reliable.
So far we are loving the area and change but it will be even better once I can find some good roads and truly connect with the car community here (especially Porsche community).
Thanks in advance!
Dave

A nice drive is Sheldon Rd south from Northville to west on North Territorial and get lost on the nice roads west of US-23. There are some really great country roads NW of Ann Arbor.
There's a big Cars & Coffee this Saturday, 9/24, from 8a-11a at the new M1 Concourse in Pontiac.
And finally, living in Northville, there are a huge number of Ford employees, so owning a Mustang is a must if you want to stay friendly with the locals.
