Looking for a good restoration body shop near Chicago (+100 miles)
I am starting to look for a decent shop to do the body work and rust restoration on my 1973 914.
I am in the Chicago NW burbs, but figure a good (and good priced) shop is worth the travel if needed.
I am looking for a quality repair by someone who knows 914s and 60/70's vintage Porsches, but not one who mostly does concours restorations.
Longevity is paramount over perfection, and price will have to come into play.

A&L body is great. Lots of high end cars there including air cooled.

^^^ I actually moved from A&L to The Last Detail for any specialty work (had them do my Aerokit).

Yes, I am a PCA member 30+ years, but this is probably not going to be a restoration to the level that "The Last Detail" would be comfortable doing based on their web site and some of the recommendations.

There is a shop that just moved to Grand Rapids Michigan,
they have been working on 914's for a long time. the shop is Originalcustoms.com
they do amazing work, they have great pricing and they will work any level of restoration based on your budget.
