There is Sal with Perfect Power in Libertyville, he basically builds race or track cars. In the downtown area, I know of 2, Exotic car enterprises on Willow and Midwest Performance cars on Lake. I used to take my first Porsche to Exotic Car, I now take my Porsches to Midwest Performance.

Hey jms—
How has Midwest been for service? Sounds like you trust them now. I just bought a 964 and I want to get it in somewhere for its 15K service and I'd prefer an enthusiast's shop to a dealership if at all possible.

I do trust them. There have been times I have brought my car in expecting a big bill, and the problem was something simple and the bill reflected it. Not like most mechanics, when they have the opportunity to gouge they usually do. I used to take my first Porsche to Exotic cars on Willow, everytime a normal oil change turned into $1600 worth of work. I expected a large bill every time I went there. I am happy with and trust Midwest, Tom the owner is a stand up guy. Enjoy your 964. About the only times I ever drive mine are to Midwest and back. They just sit in my garage under covers.

Park Ridge eh? I grew up there. Andy at Eurocar (1-847-455-1006) Franklin Park has a great Porsche - BMW specialty shop.

I've been very satisfied with Midwest Eurosport in Bensenville. They do a lot of race cars as well as street cars. They did my suspension upgrade and I was very pleased with the price and service. Not the fanciest place, but nice people who do good work. Also, no affiliation.
I've also had work done at MPC on Lake. I was also satisfied with them, but I think their rates are a little higher.
Also, Eurosport is a bigger operation likely with more equipment, if that matters at all.
