Recommended alignment shop in Chicago NW burbs
Looong time BMW guy that just bought a GT4 as my first Porsche. Been doing a lot of reading to educate myself. Similar to the BMWs, I've read that I need to dial in the camber on the front of the car or destroy the front tires if I take it to the track. At this point the car is stock. Looking for recommendations on where to go for an alignment that will max out the stock suspension camber settings. I really want someone that is Porsche savvy and experienced.

Thalmann's in Glenview. Used to do Fall Line's alignments. Taking my new racecar there in a couple weeks, and they did the track alignment on my 997 (as much as a track alignment as you can get with stock components).

Thanks to both of you!
I've used Fall Line in the past for one of my BMW 'enhancement' projects. Have you had good luck with their alignments?
Fischer is close by to me. As a new Porsche person I haven't used them. Have you used them for alignments? Satisfied?
Reason I ask on the alignment experience for both is I have had on occasion alignments that were technically correct per the computer readouts but end up having some anomalies in real world - slight pull, too little toe in and associated wandering,..

+1 for G Design and Fisher
Joey at G design was chief mech in a few of the cup series and for one of the local dealer race shops before it was dissolved.
Mid go to Fisher if you street the car more and G Design is you track it.

Fisher, Track and street alignment alike. Don't forget you can confirm your ride height and if your car has the capability you can corner balance it at the same time. Not much of a premium to balance it at the same time. Night time at Fishers last week, their getting busy.
Been going to rick and Peter fisher for 10 years with my Porsches, BMW and Audi. Its nice having them in your home town.
Fall Line is great for Parts, a friend is heavily invested in working with then to facilitate his racing, Hard Core.
