Never again
Congratulations to Porsche for completely ruining an incredible brand by installing F$CK$NG stupid nannies that damn near kill a skilled driver !
I have owned +20 Porsche vehicles over the past 8 years and I will NEVER own another new version. I will go back in time and buy a version that does NOT have countless sensors and nannies.
That’s it. Suck it Porsche. Way to screw it all up.

Turning left damn near killed me, and my son tonight…. My 2025 Cayenne GTS slammed on brakes while I was turning left with NO cars around. And it startled me so much that I damn near turned in front of oncoming traffic (that came after the nanny intervention)!

Posts like this make me question whether I want to spec ACC/LCA. I had a SQ7(basically the same hardware as the cayenne) for a few days and one time there was some debris in the road, no other cars around me, and when I tried to swerve around the LCA was fighting me through the wheel. Also had similar experience with phantom emergency braking on another car. Really makes it hard to put your faith in these systems again when **** like this happens even once or twice.
I had a similar experience in my ex - Mercedes E-coupe. It was fully loaded, had every single option that was possible to purchase.
1st, compared to Porsche, Audi and BMW I personally think Mercedes has the best implementation of such features, whether it be the adaptive LED "matrix" lighting, distronic "adaptive" cruise control, or active lane keep assist...just to mention a few.
Story:
I was driving my Merc on the highway, with no one in front of me. I had a car that was following me at a distance of ~ 6 cars.
Out of nowhere, Pre-Safe kicks in, tightens the seat belts, and slams on the brakes for a second. The car behind me quickly swerved to the left. Luckily it could have been worse. I really get how such systems make your trip so much convenient, yet it is these stories that make me question these systems. Luckily my Panny has only LKA & LCA.

Lane keeping assist can be disabled by a push button near the steering wheel on my 2024 base. The assist is a bit annoying when driving on local roads, but I found it useful when driving on the freeways.
I had a "brake assist" kicked in when I tried to make a *left* turn; I timed the turn a bit faster than the system liked: right at the tail of a passing car on the opposite lane. I think the system detected that my car was about to hit the rear of the passing car; but in fact, my car could pass through the intersection without hitting the rear of the passing car; my timing was too tight for the system to handle. :-)
So, I learned to adapt to the system by making a left turn not too close to the rear of a passing car.

Like a handgun, its better to have it and not need it vs Not have it and need it..
OP needs to stop complaining and grow some *****. It will be okay. There is alot of stuff to worry about than this.

I had a very similar experience driving a Mercedes loaner. I was going down a dark two lane road at about 50 mph, no cars ahead or behind me (fortunately). A car turning around in a driveway adjacent to the road had its headlights shine through a cluster of trees. The car sensed a potential collision for some bizarre reason due to the lighting and slammed on the brakes. Fortunately, no one was behind me because they would have gotten a full on brake check for no reason.
Some of these systems are mandatory, required by law (more will follow), while others are optional and can be purchased by clicking the appropriate box in the configurator. Yes, they are sometimes unreliable, like all modern electronics, and cause false alarms, but there are also situations when they save us from accidents or car damage. It's a trade-off.
