Fitcamx on 2024 Cayenne
#2
The FITCAMX website doesn't show a different camera model for the 2024 Cayenne which leads to believe that there is little or no difference in the installation procedure from previous model years. If you are in doubt, send a message to FITCAMX and ask.
Here's a link to a long running thread about dashcams for the 9Y0 Cayenne: https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...cayenne-2.html
The above noted thread has a post or two about my FITCAMX install in my 2022 Cayenne. The version I bought is the 4K forward facing camera powered by the rain sensor. It's worked well since last June. I installed a Sandisk 128GB high endurance microSD card instead of using the smaller capacity no-name microSD card than came with it. My main criticisms of the FITCAMX are that it shows only date and time on recorded videos. I would prefer that it also at least optionally show GPS coordinates and vehicle speed. The FITCAMX Android phone app works OK but connecting my phone to the FITCAMX via WiFi to watch and download video clips is a bit of a pain. I sometimes remove the microSD card from the FITCAMX and view the videos on a PC. I had to modify my folding windshield sunscreen to allow for the FITCAMX hanging down a little lower than the original rain sensor housing. I prettied up the cut portion of the sunscreen with binding that I bought at a fabric store.
I sure like having a dashcam in the Cayenne. Its recorded a bunch of stop sign and red light runners. One video I recorded shows a left turning stop sign runner who appeared to attempt to ram my Cayenne. I dodged him with only inches to spare.

Thanks for your reply. I will check with them. As there are few changes in the interior for the latest model I’m still hoping the set up is still the same.

For a 2024, none of the parts come off as they show in their instructional video. Also, you have to remove the mirror to access the harness you need. I am half way thru the install, still need to finish it up.

In that case i will get a thinkware instead.

I documented the OEM Dashcam install for my 2024 here:
https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...n-9y0-2-a.html
if your car is pre-wired it’s very easy once you get access to the wiring harness.
I have FitcamX on my other vehicles and it’s pretty good.

I installed the FITCAMX in my 2024 Cayenne S. I used this install video as a guide:
There is a slight gap between the camera and the middle plastic piece, but it isn't too noticeable. Install took about an hour.
Here is a video clip I pulled from the micro SD card after a near accident:
