I had the bose in my base 2023 Cayenne. I thought it sounded really good and was completely pleased. I traded that in for a 2022 TGT with the Burmester system and I was also completely pleased with it. However, I was not blown away by any night and day difference. If I were to spec out a new build again down the road, I would not be paying the extra upgrade for it.

Spotify sounds world's better through the Porsche hosted Spotify in the PCM. The volume levels and clarity are distinctly different through AA. I found that I could stop AA from doing this by going into Devices and disabling it until I have a need for it.
I am using the Spotify via iPhone & Apple CarPlay. I have not yet tried the Porsche Spotify app. Thanks for your comment, as now I will give it a try.

I'm an audiophile. I have a $200k system at home. Not trying to brag here - just to give you a perspective. At one point I also had a $15k+ SQ system in a car.

IMO the Burmester system in Cayenne 3 is simply fantastic. Haven't heard anything better as far as factory car audio system is concerned. I could easily live with one and only I wish my wife's Cayenne base had one. Not cheap, but well worth the money IMO.

What do you use at home? Wilson? Sonus Faber? Magico? What about electronics?

Also a big audio fan here and hobby is getting uncontrollable - per my wife - with multiple system systems

I had multiple Wilsons (Sophia, Sasha), Avalons (Eidolon) and Magicos (S5, S5 mk2). Now have the Magico M3, driven by D'agostino amplification and Lampizator Horizon DAC.

@Elberoth Nice system you are at the really top end of the scale.

How is the Lampizator? I am running a DCS Rossini but I might upgrade to the new DCS Varese - if it makes sense - when it is released.

Now on the pre or without matter I love the idea and simplicity of the chain of running it without and only with DAC but I guess it is a difficult decision

I'm curious about the Varese too. Victor Jason Serinus from Stereophile just texted me he is gonna review it for Steroephile this fall. @ $400k complete with SACD transport, it is gonna be Bugatti equivalent in the audio world.

Horizon is the very best DAC I have heard so far. I have a friend who owned dCS Vivaldi Apex, tried most of the heavy weight contenders in the digital world including the $140k MSB Select II and we both concluded the Horizon is better. He sold his Apex since and now has the Horizon diven by Taiko Extreme (via USB). He acually has two of them - on in his living room system with Wilsons XVX and a second one in his bedroom system with Alexia V.

A fun fact: After comparing the Horizon & Taiko combo to his $400k turntable setup (TechDAS AirForce One, two SAT CF1 arms, Etsuro Urushi Gold and Lyra Atlas carts, CH Precision X1/P1 phono) that he now much prefers his digital front end to analog.

24’ CS was our 1st build and cared about audio quality.

Got Burmester, would definitely upgrade on our next P-car if it has the same specs or better. Husband is an audiophile and will find excuses to “have” to drive my car to listen to music.

There are so many tiers of car audio systems with different companies. Previous SQ5 had B&O which was great, SQ7 with “high-tiered” Bose sucked.

During conversations with our home audio tech, they recommended the Tidal app with HiRes FLAC for better streaming quality than Spotify/Apple.

We have noticed a significant difference in audio streaming quality at home and in my car.

While it isn’t integrated, curious what other people think about Tidal quality.

I do wish I had the Burmester. I find the Bose to be pretty meh. The Bose in my wife's Panamera is way better, so Porsche must spec different Bose systems in different cars. The Panamera has at least two more speaker on the sides of the center console. I always find myself trying to tune the Bose to sound good.....can't quite get there. Next time (and sport exhaust too).

I use/love TIDAL (and they pay artists more) also and always try to stream highest quality but Bluetooth does have its limitations, it sounds about the best in the Cayenne than I've heard elsewhere. TIDAL is best on my Sonos Atmos at home. I wish the PCM would allow me to add apps a la Tesla.

Since I have an Android phone, music just starts at my current playlist from YouTube Music and I'm too lazy to futz with it to disco Android Auto and stream via Bluetooth.

Are you fearful of denting the door speaker covers?

Thread bump, not that happy with almost non existent base on the burmester in my 25 gts coupe

the mids and highs are very clear and aura 3d offers one of best surround sound incar experiences I’ve heard, but the lack of bass makes me think the 400w sub isn’t working - I might have to physically check

I do find sound quality better using native Spotify than via CarPlay

the tiny under seat woofers in my m3 have more bass, and the optional top line meridian in my f-pace svr was far better overall, unless there’s a trick to the settings I don’t know about?

maybe push the sound stage rear ward, reduce the aura settings, etc

Base sucks with aura activated. Need to run it in stereo to get any semblance of low end. I’ll look at my settings, I believe it’s on live it I remember correctly.

aura is the best sounding sound stage to me, the other settings feel a bit flat

does anyone offer a pnp sub replacement like in other cars?

edit: ok i've worked out what issue was, i had sound stage setup as symmetrical, i have switched to driver, live, and taken some treble out - seems to have sorted the sound quite a lot to point where it actually sounds like a premium setup now
