i can’t recall what i have said in the past but the black plastic (the portion around the little center console cup, and the portion on the slide door and around the slide door) is just such soft plastic. i am a very careful person, mine does have fine scratches. they could be polished out, but i haven’t done this. my car is a 2024 w 21000 miles. the ac control panel is glass and durable. if you don’t have the passenger display, that huge panel is the same soft black plastic that scratches easy.
what do i mean when i say easy - if anything touches it, even a napkin, and moves along it, you are scratching it. some of the dust particles are going to between the napkin and surface and will swirl the finish. if you use a duster u are going to scratch it. to not scratch it you probably need to spray it w the right cleaner and very gently wipe, then fold to a clean area of ur cloth and wipe again.
so a ppf on these surfaces will keep those fine scratches from happening. if i have it polished out, i will ppf it. matte or shiny, i am not sure. i think i like the shiny.
i should try to get some pics because i think my wear is probably less than some, maybe more than others. like i said i am careful, but i have a fiancé. so when you have a female on the scene, things can just happen. and nobody ever knows anything. feet move around. hands w rings and bracelets are flying. how did the passenger window tint get a small scratch? nobody knows. is it me, who never touches windows or paint or was it my fiancé??? it is basically the cost of living life.
I really like the non-glossy ppf on those glossy black plastic surfaces. Worked out great on our MY24 on the doors and the non-entertainment panel of the dash. The Protech Cayenne specific precut films were not available in early 2024, so after 2 years and 22k miles, the center console trims looked tired with hairline scratches amplified by the sun reflections. However the surfaces with the film looked flawless, like new. The film (actual ppf exterior film) took life events superbly.
Got our new MY26 delivered straight to the detailer today and this time we are adding those Protech pieces to the console plastic as well. Just not on the haptic glass, as we use a custom homemade black felt fabric to cover up the a/c display lights (spousal request).

@ThomasWShea If your interior piano black trim only has micro scratches, go with the matte ppf and it’ll all become invisible - happened to
mine. Other benefit is that it won’t catch those finger prints which are all too common.
Finally got our new ride home after its seemingly long journey from the factory. Installer decided to apply every matte film in the Protech kit (but the door panels trim pieces which he custom cut himself) including the PCM and instrument cluster screens. Was ticked at first he went rogue having fun as we only wanted the center console done, but I have to say the results, in person, are beyond expectations, adding a touch of class when you sit in the vehicle that can’t be captured in the pictures. When the panel lights go on, it looks like graphics etched in a slab of stone. Very cool. The thin borders of original shiny black remaining around the precut films give it an extra artsy touch. Takes precision to center them and he did it well. Adding pictures to complement those from other posters, along with one of the Kalahari beige Alcantara roof liner.
The Protech film quality looks great, this is really something I would like to add as I have exterior PPF!
Does anyone know if the Protech film is available for purchase in Sweden / EU? Or have experience with film with equal quality that is available in SWE/EU?
Yes, it seems like they would as they ship internationally according to their website. They do warn that import tariffs may apply, of course. Best to contact them first.

I have the Mojave leather interior as well in my 2024, and the matte film looks stunning on it, just like yours! Great job of your detailer in a perfect install!!
Everything (including volume **** and sunglasses holder), except the start stop button, is covered with the ppf. My installer recommended not to install on the start stop button but the product came with that cover too.
There is no deterioration in the screen / display brightness or crispness - in fact they look better since there is no reflection that was caused by the piano black stuff. The install is very clean and there are zero bubbles or lifted edges. I'm based in San Francisco Bay area, US.
Had the matte interior PPF installed today. First impressions: fantastic. I deliberately touched the surfaces multiple times in addition to normal use, and there were no fingerprints. The blank area (in place of the passenger screen), the main display, and the instrument cluster all look sharp with zero haze or reflection. The center console, especially, feels pristine and a class above the plain piano black trim.
