Just had a rear-end collision in icy New Brunswick and the price estimation given by my insurance is $10,000. Just need to replace the bumper with grille. The price is really a WOW. I guess my premium for next time will be tripled and my agent told me that my current insurer won't renew my policy and the threshold is that as long as anyone has one at-fault in any given 6 years.

Broker is telling us we cannot insurance Porsche vehicles over $150,000 through Hanover. We currently have Hanover but now need to change. How are able to insure your vehicles with Hanover?

Maybe you're dealing with a broker who's following Hanover's underwriting rules and the other brokers aren't. Both my wife and I are retired from insurance companies and we both dealt with brokers who sold our products. My wife's full time job was traveling the country auditing brokers which mainly involved requiring them to follow underwriting rules and cancelling them if they wouldn't. The level of egregious behavior was astonishing and costly. The worst case I found was that we were insuring a Ford GT40 - not a modern Ford GT - but an authentic 1960's Ford GT40 race car as if it was an inexpensive mainstream Ford.

Interesting! Doesn't that leave the broker on the hook in the event of a claim? If not, why aren't the brokers' contracts with the companies structured that way?

Farmers is reasonable for us on 2019 base Cayenne and 21 Honda CRV Hybrid, like $159/month for both. On the 911 you should look at Grundy or Haggerty for their collector car insurance. My 02 911 Turbo and 928S were stupid cheap when I had them and its agreed value insurance too.

It can get complicated and sometimes involve attorneys. I think it would have to be a significant misrepresentation by a broker for an insurance company to refuse to pay a customer's claim. Brokers normally have their own errors and omissions insurance policies to protect themselves from their own mistakes. I was fortunate to not have to "get into the weeds" in situations like this.

Was able to finalize insurance at less than $100/month with HNW coverage. Fairly happy with the end result. Went with Hanover.

Yes lots depends on location also record and vehicle too. My 21 Carrera S is cheaper than my new 24 Cayenne S e hybrid by almost 45%...ie. Cayenne is almost 1/2 as much more at rate to add to my current policy. Was like WTF? I have USAA and its supposed to be cheap! Part is cost to fix as I've heard a lot of insurers are increasing rates to pay for accidents and claims from other drivers and such.

Current insurance situation: Phoenix, AZ.. Company is Traveler's; we've had three cars, the house, and umbrella-liability polices with them for several years after getting raped by Liberty for the prior 10 years or so.. I'm now 80YO and sister is 74.. No claims for 4 years and no tickets for maybe 10 years.. $250K/500K liability, $1000-deductible collision and comp with zero-ded. glass coverage, no med., $25K un- and under-insured motorist.

ANNUAL costs for a Nissan Rogue and '23 Ford Explorer ST are around $1600 each. '24 Mustang GT Prem. recently on it was around $2400. Traded 'Stang (and money) for the 2019 Cayenne Turbo.. Traveler's annual premium is about $2600, which I though was high but I took it.. Then started looking around.. American Family Ins. was $14K (yes, fourteenTHOUSANDdollars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!); obviously they did NOT want to insure any Porsches.. Other carriers were in the $4K to $6K range.. So I'm still with Traveler's and hoping they won't raise rates too much at our Dec.-first renewal.

I’ve got the same issue. Insurance in Canada is wild.

Statefarm.. Is my agent puffing on the crackpipe? The agent who gave me the deal on the 911 insurance is not the same one whose quoting me on the Cayenne. Any other solid insurance recommendations (not Geico)?

This doesn't mean much without your age, coverage amounts, location, etc.; auto insurance is expensive in Phoenix, AZ.

Received the Auto Policy Declarations today from Travelers.. Turns out the real premium amount for the new/old '19 Cayenne Turbo is less than they told me on the fone.. The annual premiums (all amounts rounded) are $1700 for the '23 Ford Explorer, $1660 for the '20 Nissan Rogue, and $2470 (and not $2600) for the Cayenne.

Again, this is in Phoenix, NMT 5000 miles per year, pleasure use, drivers aged 80 and 74, $250/500 liability, $100K property damage, $25K/$50K under- or ininsured motorist, $1K-ded. collision and comp. with $0-ded. glass, and Extended Transportation Expenses.
