Default Cayenne GTS Specs Understated?

Things to ponder for idle minds….and those waiting for their Cayenne!

A few weeks ago I saw a review on the Cayenne GTS by Car and Driver. I noticed that the 0-60 time tested was much lower than stated by Porsche. Actually the 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds didn’t seem plausible at the stated HP & Torque for the GTS V8! A half second (stated to actual) 0-60 is big, IMO. If we get a car capable of 3.8 vs 4.3 it will be a pleasant surprise!
About a year ago I was looking at the Audi SQ8 & RSQ8 and decided to compare the Audi specs to the Cayenne. It occurred to me that the engines might be very similar even though the quoted Specs are different. Here is some info that “I think” is fairly accurate. Is VAG using the same basic engine in both lines? The RSQ8 & Cayenne Turbo also seem very similar.

Audi SQ8-500hp; Tq 568; Stated 0-60 4.3 seconds…Car & Driver 3.6
Cayenne GTS-453 hp; Tq 457; Stated 0-60 4.5 (4.3 SptCrono)…Motor Trend 3.8
HP Audi +43 Torque Audi +111

I was always under the impression that the SQ8 Audi was faster but….
The Germans typically seem conservative in 0-60 estimates but why would they quote such different HP numbers if the engines are similar? It might be logical to use the same engines across both lines. I haven’t seen anything like this posted recently so excuse me if this has been covered before. I did see some conjecture in a thread that the GTS and Turbo engines might be similar except for the amount of Boost.

Yes I'm pretty sure the Cayenne GTS, Turbo, Turbo GT, RSQ, Urus and Bentayga all share the same 4 liter V8. However each division tunes their own version.

Car and Driver said the GTS Coupe was to 60 in under four seconds. That would be pretty amazing. I'm surprised though that Porsche says the GTS is only a half second faster than an S. That's all you get going from V6 to V8?

All use the same EA825 but I know the Turbo GT is completely reworked by the GT division, I assume the Urus has been heavily worked on as well.

My observation is that the engine in the SQ8/Cayenne GTS-RSQ8/CyTurbo might be the same engine and tune. It also appears that the GTS specs are intentionally understated…might make my insurance a little less expensive.

Porsche and BMW have been underrating output and performance, at least in their higher performance models. You can find Car&Driver road tests for the S and GTS. The GTS is quicker and faster, but not by much.

Somewhere after 110 mph, the GTS starts walking away from the S, reaching 150 about 3 seconds faster.

Are these press cars the same as if they randomly bought them off the lot? Also, I recall reading that the engines get to optimal condition (reduced friction) after about 20k miles. Do they get a special break-in before testing starts?
