Launch Control, which Porsche calls Performance Start, is available on vehicles equipped with the Sport Chrono Package. You can easily see if you have Sport Chrono - you will have a Drive Mode switch on your steering wheel (pictured, below).

To activate Performance Start you must first switch to Sport+ mode and your engine should be warmed up. See below for details on the procedure.

Once you press the accelerator to the floor, wait a second or two for the blue Performance Start message on the gauge as pictured. Then just release the brake and hang on. Have fun!

I haven’t tried this but I could get sort of a soft launch in Sport mode on my Macan instead of doing a hard launch in sport plus. Is that also possible in the Cayenne?

I suppose that would work in the same way we used to launch automatic transmissions in the old days: Mash the brake and floor the throttle. When engine is up to speed, release the brake and off you go! Bonus: No wheel-spin courtesy of Porsche Stability Management (PSM).

No worries, you can try again when you are ready. 😃 It sounds like you were slowly applying power. Next time, try pressing the gas pedal very quickly. The blue performance start message should appear in less than two seconds.
