Anyways, that's my thought process. And I do agree the GTS is for more of a niche buyer than the S or the Turbo. It's not the fastest model but it's surely the sportiest from the factory
Great points, Mickey. Thanks for clarifying. The Panny GTS I mentioned was clearly loaded at that price.

Definitely agree the GTS models are the coolest-looking of the bunch before options.

PTV + is now standard? Now we are talking. Looks like you can get a Sport PASM on top of the 20mm lower you can go to 30mm lower if you get the three chamber air suspension. That is new..

Also it looks to be 4.2 0-60 with Sport Chrono, 4.5 without and 4.5 0-62mph with sport chrono and 4.8 without. .3 differential between 2mph.

And we all know if Porsche claims 4.2, it's really 3.9-4.0....just as they claim 3.9 for the Turbo and it's done 3.6 in the hands of quite a few reviewers

My guess is Porsche claims 4.3
Car and Driver tested a base 2019 Cayenne 0-60 @4.8 seconds which is about a full second faster than Porsche #s. The GTS should be at least 4.0.

Nice find.

That article claims 2,145 kg vehicle weight, or 4,719 lbs. I seriously doubt that's anywhere close to actual weight but sure as hell would be nice.

Bottom of that article states 0-60mph in 4.2 seconds. Guess we will find out soon when Porsche officially releases the car end of month

They also claim 4,719 lb vehicle weight which seems impossible if the Turbo weighs over 5,000 lbs. As a fan of the car I would hope they're correct, but likely not.

It could be and I am spitballing here is due to the interior differences.. Alcantara could be lighter plus having 8 way vs 18 way seats. Smaller brakes maybe Other than that I don't think I could explain the weight differences. My GTS vs a Turbo of same year was due to engine not being Turbo as well as brakes and wheel choices. I still don't understand how a 4.8 NA engine is nearly 300 pounds lighter than a 4.8 Turbo engine.

I could see this new GTS slightly under 5000 though. Maybe 4950 ish?

EDIT: I just saw in the article posted below their is a lightweight sports package for the Coupe and the 4719 could be for that model only.

This article quotes the GTS base at 108k

https://www.automobilemag.com/news/2...formance-0-60/

That isn't bad considering. Especially considering it now comes with PTV + standard. Possibly an extra 15-20k in options max and you have a really nice SUV. Good set of options will push it close to base price of a Turbo, but turbo will be naked options wise.

That is the official Porsche press release, isn't it?

EDIT:

Yup, the configurator is up and running (at least for CH), no need to keep guessing the prices

That Swiss configurator is a pain to use. Plus it looks like they are still stiffing Euro customers by not making Air Suspension standard on the GTS.

U.S configurator is available now.
Under the hood: 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. 453 hp / 457 lb-ft

Interesting to see couple items below (and probably among others) are now available as standard equipment.
Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+)
Tinted thermally-insulated glass all around with grey top-tint on windshield

EDIT: The "Thermally & Noise Insulated Glass" still an option for $1,130.

I added Thermally and noise insulated glass so unless there is a go between, that doesn't look standard.

Here is my build. This is 30k more than my GTS MSRP from 2013, and mine had 26k in options, this one has 30k in options. So base MSRP rose about 26k or so. I don't think their was that much of a jump between 958 and 958.2 GTS base. This base is quite a bit higher and I think maybe a bit too high, should be closer to 100 than 110.

Edit: I was right on the curb weight, I figured it might come under 5k and it is now officially 4954lbs Coupe comes in a little lighter at 4932. Not sure if that includes lightweight package or not.

Ah, I see it now. The wording that got me. You're correct the "Thermally & Noise Insulated Glass" is an option for $1,130.

Putting all the info aside. Can't wait to hear the final production exhaust note on this Cayenne GTS.

The configurator may be up but it needs some work. It's glitchy (the new sport centered exhaust looks unfinished, software glitch), certain selected options are not reflected on the vehicle (picked satin black GT wheels and they show satin platinum instead). Also seems like it's missing options seen on the other trim levels. I'm sure more options will be added over the next few weeks, seems to be the MO.

A couple of observations;

1) Looks like you can only select the new Sports Centered Exhaust with the Lightweight Sport Package, not a la carte. When I built my Turbo I wanted the Lightweight Sport Package because without it the seats were all leather and I like contrast. The standard 8-way sport seats for the GTS are standard alcantara/leather combo which look amazing and are no cost. I would rather have the GTS standard sport seats than the houndstooth inserts from the Lightweight Sport Package. But if you want the badass new center sport exhaust you have to select the Lightweight Sport Package to get it. So it's either center sport exhaust + houndstooth insert seats, or neither. Bummer Porsche.

2) Was expecting a few more color options with the GTS launch since it's the last trim level to be released for the 9Y0 lineup, no such luck.
