Default Deviated Stitching —RIP OFF

USA PRICE LIST —DEVIATED STITCHING .

5000$ — Surely this is a rip off — They only have to change the SPOOL !! — or are they trying to be a FERRARI !,

All the options have rip off pricing. And that comes from someone who ordered a car loaded with options anyway. They can get away with it because nuts like me let them so of course they do it.

The simplest illustrations: The Cayenne comes standard with the chrome side window trim but if you want the high gloss black trim it is a $400 extra. The Cayenne Coupe comes standard with the high gloss black window trim but if you want the chrome trim it is a $400 extra. The 718 Cayman comes with the 18" Cayman wheels but if you want the 18" Boxster wheels it is a $400 up charge. The 718 Boxster comes with the 18" Boxster wheels but if you want the 18" Cayman wheels instead it is a $400 up charge.

I'm surprised that they don't charge extra for getting air in the tires.

Deviating stitching is one of the biggest price gouges -- if not THE biggest -- on the Cayenne options list. This option was finally offered about a week after our Turbo locked last year. We debated about it, even talking to our SA. He advised against it not because of cost, but because it would've delayed our Turbo beyond its December delivery date.

But yes, nearly $7K for deviated stitching and unique seat centers is a pretty heady call by Porsche. Had the delivery date not been a problem, we would've considered optioning black seats with Bordeaux Red seat cushions for just $2K over the standard non-Club leather, and changed our exterior color to either Jet Black Metallic, Quartzite Grey or Carrera White.

We have learned as Porsche newbies that the company has no shame for its pricing structure. We should all be so free, I guess.

Get what you want and don't look back. That's the damned truth with these cars.

It will be interesting to see if the stitching being thrown in as it is with some 911 leathers makes it's way to other models.

You do get at least partial deviated stitching with some of the Cayenne interiors like black/Mojave beige

Yup and with the Bordeaux / Black. It’s lovely!

Yeah, that's not as much coverage as you get with deviated stitching though, there are a couple leather choices with the 992 that get the full package but without the ridiculously high overcharge. This is what I hope makes it into the Panamera and Cayenne.

I believe the only things missing with the two tone interior included deviated stitch are the steering wheel, and the seat silhouettes.

That's a chunk of stitching and visually significant but the important part is no 4k or more upcharge for it. That's my point, its right there with the other leather choices and I hope we all soon have the option to get the stitching without the robbery involved in ordering it now.

For those that want it its there. And for those that don't you don't have to have it.

And besides . . it says Porsche on it don't it.

I believe they hand stitch it. Takes about 2 weeks to do. That’s why it cost so much.

They use a sewing machine, same one that the non deviated panels get processed on, as already said they just swap out the spool.
