2018 Cayenne - Consolidated Thread
In Frankfurt.
Not happy with new front grill. Much less aggressive than current altho it is said to be exclusive to turbo..until GTS debuts Rear lights now traverse entire back end.
Has a functioning rear spoiler standard and rear steering as option.
Other improved handling features, but basic shape is same. 550HP now on basic turbo. Wonder if turbo S will have electric motors option like panermerica.
Overall disappointed as was hoping for more aggressive and futuristic styling

I'll be the contrarian here.. I rather like the turbo grille. It's aggressive looking. I assume since it's a hot-V turbo design that there aren't intercoolers involved (would seem to make no sense to put the turbos in the V if you then ran the output down to the front bumper area and back up..) so the big openings are most likely just to differentiate the turbo front end (and justify the $$$ list price.)
Looking at the base price ($125k I believe) I can easily see most of them going out the door at > $150k.
The Porsche presentation I saw said the active spoiler and rear-wheel steering, and PTV, coated brake rotors and dynamic chassis control are all standard on the turbo, so you are getting some value for the MSRP. Makes me wonder what they'll offer on the Turbo-S that isn't on this (besides 600HP..)
I just have to wait until some "rich old guy" (a kid manning a motel desk's comment to my wife on our turbo..) buy/leases one and takes the initial 50% depreciation hit.

So after having watched the video on the new Cayenne Turbo, the following thoughts come to mind.....
1) overall general look is not much different from the 958 series really (.1 & .2 versions). So that's good for us 958 series owners, the 958s won't be so 'dated'.
2) the exhaust note for the new Turbo, judging from the video sounds okay in some instances, but then in a lot of the scenes it sounds a lot like an angry UPS truck. Could just be the way it was recorded? In any case, there does seem to be more exhaust volume than the current 958 CTTs (but again it just might seem that way from the way it's recorded/enhanced?)
3) grey calipers on a Turbo model?! Is that the color of calipers on models equipped with the coated rotor option? I'm sure they're still yellow on PCCB equipped vehicles, but hopefully grey's not the standard Turbo calipers? Red, where's red??

That touch panel interior gives it that MISSION E look... I'm sure all models will soon follow this pattern....
Yes, I do think that the body style has not changed much, I'm happy keeping an older Turbo for now, but who knows..

I dunno...the rear makes it look like a Lincoln...and obviously not in a good way.
Plus, I prefer the more aggressive front end of the current lineup. I'm sure it's an improvement in every other way, but like others have said, I'm fine with my 958 for many years knowing I won't look too outdated

As of 10/2017 no dates on US delivery yet, dealer personnel haven't yet been to training. Next month they'll have Sport Tourismo (wagon) training. There seems to be considerable skepticism regarding the MSRP for it...
