I'm skeptical. Having experienced first hand how the BS reacted in a post fix vehicle, I can't help but feel that these boxes need to be specific to post or pre fix vehicles and unless the tuner specifically asks what you have, they can't deliver an appropriate box. Tuningbox doesn't ask so i can only assume they use the same box for pre and post fix vehicles. That worries me.

No Im not affiliated with their company. Looked all over the internet, very little reviews about their company in the United States. There is a company called B-K Motorsport has put out some
youtube videos a few years back. I Believe they are the offical US dealer. After chatting with their customer service figured I’d give them a try.

I wrote to the tuning box company regarding this. They actually recommended against doing the fix because there are so many variables within the fix. I did it anyway because of the extended warranty and extra cash. They have a generous 30 day return policy so I figured I would return the box if things didnt work out. Their company offers a engine warranty which none of the tuning box companies do. After reading the fine print it only applies to european customers. Still the engine warranty is the most aggressive warranty I’ve seen so far, for them to offer it must mean they really stand behind their product. Tuning boxes are supposed to work within the confines of the ecu. There also the aspect of being able to fine tune the adjustments. There are 3 settings, Race, Sport and Eco. Within these settings there are 6 sub settings +3 or -3. Im going to dyno my vehicle to the get the cold hard numbers. Im also going to analyze my used oil with blackstone to see if there are any differences in used oil compositio

Hey, anyone know if VAG has shipped ANY new TDIs stateside post fix? I thought everything stopped. I finally got an answer from these folks and they said, "it should work on post emissions fix because VAG has shipped TDIs since we released it". TDIs yes. USA spec TDIs? Not sure that is true though. They did say I could return it though if it doesn't work. I'm still waiting to hear back from BS too though

I have my car flashed today. The crank hp on a MAHA dyno (MAHA is the gold standard for dynos) went from 250hp to 305hp. Will post the graph tomorrow.

No. VAG hasn't shipped any diesels here since '16 and more than likely won't again for a very long time.

I did the flash at a local specialist in Poland.

The car did 256hp stock and 49hp more after the tune, for a total of 305hp. Not bad.

With the new tune vs stock:

Stock tune:

They also have switched off the EGR valve, as it was causing me CEL light from time to time.

All in all it took them 1h with pre/post dynopulls. The car got flashed via the OBD port.

^^ EGR was causing CEL with your tune? Or was causing problems before?

I got an official response from tuningbox.com today from the US Distrubutor.

Hey Garth,

Our Tuning Boxes can be used on vehicles on which the VW Emissions up-date has been made.

The Price of the TuningBox is $538.

If you would like to buy it with a TuningPedal than the price for that would be $750.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,

Is the emissions update the same world wide? Or different for us cars?

No, before the tune. But since they were already updating the software, they took care of the EGR cel as well.

The EGR valve is causing problems on all VW TDI engines - this is a very common issue.

Race chip for the CD.
I just bought a 2015 CD and ordered a Race Chip tune from Germany. I will post up some details after I pick it up on Saturday.

Indeed, especially since they have no experience with the US market diesels. IMO, Malone Tuning is the only way to go, as they have the most experience with our diesels...
