How much does it cost to replace the thermostat/housing on the V8 at the dealer? My '12 CS is exhibiting all the symptoms with the CEL. Also, when I asked the dealer about pinning the coolant pipe, they are not exactly familiar with it. Thanks for any help

Your looking around 2400. Should be no more. Here in NY they tend to charge top dollar.

At the dealer?

You need to find a good independent mechanic.

I am late to this party but thought I would throw in that I was having the same issues with my 2014 Turbo S Cayenne. I had the front and rear temperature sensors replaced and it made no difference (except for the $1300 I spent). I then decided I would tackle job 2 myself and replaced the thermostat, water pump (perfectly good one), serpentine belt (42,000miles). Other than having to 'burp' the coolant until full, as I did not use the vacuum system as I really should have, it worked well. Running temp is 200 F. If someone could confirm that temperature as a proper one, I'll be all done!
