settings revert back to default
I keep changing the settings to show battery voyage on line one ,then I use the key to lock the car which is supposed to save it in the key. If I get out of the car and don't lock it it reverts back to turbo boost instead of battery voltage . What should voltage be while driving, and also after overnight stop .
John, knowing what model/year you're talking about would help - but to SAVE the settings so it always shows battery voltage do this:
1. Set it so it shows what you want on the multi-display
2. Press "Set" and "1" on the drivers door seat/vehicle memory. This will then recall ALL the custom settings you may have made to the vehicle. It will beep when it's done memorizing them.
3. Get out of the vehicle and lock it using the button on your key-fob. You didn't mention if you have KESSY (Key-less entry and start) - but in any case - using the key to lock the car tells the car that the current settings are the ones you want when you open the car and it recognizes that key (either though an unlock command from the key, or if you have KESSY though the door handle.)
This is all in the owners manual - but it's written in a sort of convoluted way when it's actually quite simple.
As to your question on voltage - it's been a while since I've had it display voltage, but from memory:
Somewhere > 12V before the engine starts, ~13.5V with the engine running, and up to 14.5V if you press the "sport" button. Porsche actually limits the output of the alternator to a lower voltage in non-sport mode in order to save gasoline and maximize MPG. The US EPA like that.
BTW - a nag: including the year/model is sort of important if you want intelligent answers. If vague guesses work for you I guess you can ignore this advice. Best of all - is putting the year/model in the TITLE of the posting - that may attract people to open the post who have some experience with that year/model. Just sayin.. the smarter your question is - the smarter the answers are going to be.
