Default Performance of 2018 Cayenne Base

I know that this kind of discussion is useless. But, I feel entertaining.

It looks like 2018 Cayenne is derived from VAG MLB platform.
Audi Q7 is built on it with 3.0 supercharged engine and achieves 5.7 sec for 0 to 60 MPH run owning to significant weight savings from extensive use of Aluminum.

Macan is built on the current Audi Q5. Macan 2.0 run at 6.2 for 0 to 60 and Audi q5 at 7.0. Macan's engine is a derivative of Q5's engine.

Now, if 2018 Cayenne Base is installed with Q7's engine, its performance could closely approach that of the current Cayenne S.

Or, since 2.0 version of Q7 will be introduced next year, 2018 Cayenne base may be installed with 2.0 like Macan 2.0.

What you guys think? Is there anyone who can shed some lights on this?

One thing the base Cayenne needs to contend is new competition. Jaguar F-Pace and Maserati Levante present alternatives to the Cayenne, as sporting and luxurious SUVs. The base Levante's engine puts out mid-300s, and the mid range Jag (35t with a base price of $42k) is 340hp.

Both the F-Pace and the Levante are seriously smaller in the rear cargo area. They're more competition for the Macan in that regard. I know, I considered and tested both of them before picking a Cayenne. The F-Pace interior comes across as cheap in too many places. The Levante was really quite nice, but the cross-over like styling just didn't work for me.

I have to agree with your first statement - "this kind of discussion is useless" - hence I'm not playing.
