Default squeaky brakes

I have the regular Brembos on my 958 TTS, not the ones which are supposed to squeal right? Problem is they do. Porsche dealership tells me to drive fast on an empty street and slam on the brakes. I'm skeptical and don't want to ruin my rotors but the porsche guy says the rotors on this car can't be warped - is that legit?

Are the turbo brakes prone to warping if jammed on?

I've used my 955 TT brakes pretty heavily and the worst that's happened is a bit of pad glazing. That being said, they have always squeaked really badly. I have track pads on my cars and they don't squeak as badly as the 955TT does with street pads.

The 996s use those stick-on damper things, which make pad changes a pain, cost an arm and a leg, and make the pedal feel squishier. That being said, they do work. I ran without them on the 996 for awhile and it squeaked every time I even touched the brakes. I put them on and it rarely squeaks now.

I'm not sure why Porsche didn't include them on the cayenne.

So the car now has vibration when braking above 70. Could this be a wheel problem as opposed to a brake problem?

My brakes just started squealing too, never happened before. Wonder if cold weather has anything to do with it? I know my rear pads are low, but no warning light yet.

Try doing the slam on the brakes thing. Then try spraying the front and back of the calipers with chemical brake cleaner. Make sure you get the rotors and pads soaked. It's worked for me.

Since my last pad change, I have had no issues. I put the EBC reds on the front and bosch quietcast on the back.

I did the slam on the brakes thing. Sound went away for like a day and now it vibrates when I brake over 75, but maybe I am just spoiled by how compliant the ride is on stock 21" rims and rubber.

Edit: I am beginning to think this is a bent wheel problem.

did you ever find a solution? My 958 TT brakes squeal when it is cold out. I googled it and even USA Today was complaining about squeaky brakes on the 958 Cayenne Turbo S

Some cars just have the squeak and it doesn't ever go away - worse in cold weather.......I have done the speed stops from 80 mph to no avail as a reseating technique, etc..... I even shaved the corners off the pads to stop the slight vibration that causes the noise, greased the back of the pads with the recommended paste......I changed my brake fluid once and that helped for about 6 weeks, I have washed out the brake dust, etc......to no avail....

Only when you change the rotors along with the pads the next time will you have a good chance for peace and quiet......turn the radio up in the meantime.....sorry for the lame advice, but I had a car that did it for 7 years......drove me nuts...problem never solved...

If you do solve do tell us!!
